Some people need to be careful what they wish for. I think getting rid of DC would only end up with Rovers going in one direction and that is down. The biggest question for a get ridder is who exactly would you replace DC with? I am so pleased to have Darrell at the helm because I honestly believe that Rovers are punching above their weight, not in terms of fan base etc as that is one of the biggest in this league, but in terms of infrastructure where it is League 2 standard at best.

Wael and Co were lucky to inherit DC when they took over the club. The thought of Hamer overseeing the appointment of a replacement sends a shiver down my spine.
It's good to see that a lot of fans appreciate that we are fortunate to have DC at the helm.

If only we had an owner who was willing to spend a few quid seriously sort out our infrastructure as you can understand why the fans are getting a bit twitchy as it has all gone quiet again!-------we shall see 🙏🙏🙏

See you at Scunny if you go. Doubt he'd see you anyway, as you'd no doubt be patrolling Scunthorpe's corridors of power. One can only imagine the finery that adorns the walls of such a corridor.

We've never had it so good. I wish the belters would belt up! Re. Compton Dando, I was there this summer in search of ancestors' graves, but there weren't any. My great, great, great grandad was born at sea in 1776, got married in Bedminster and had all his four kids baptised on the same day in Compton Dando church (to save money was the usual reason for mass baptisms back then). Looking through the church records in vain after some family roots there, I noticed a Brookman line that went from the mid-1800s all the way back to the 1600s. Sir Keith?

Defensively I can't recall us ever having it so bad away from home even during JW's season to the extent I've now given up even thinking about going to away games as it's pointless, even paying £5 on iFollow is now a borderline decision. I'm not in the "sack him" camp but he needs to turn things around QDM.

It would be crazy to sack DC now I hope he can do a LJ,but LJ got in a defensive coach so come on DC get some help. Sounds like we are missing Steve Yates

We would all rather be where we are now in the league (even with all the goals we are conceding) as opposed to sitting in the league two relegation zone (even if we were conceding less goals!) Its no the best we've ever had of course, but last season was the highest we had been in 17 years so its been a while! We must also remember that we shipped a lot of goals early last season too and it was rectified with a strong end of season finish. DC defiantly needs to work out why we tend to do so much better in the second half of each season under him and I expect us to again be better in the second half this time around.

However comments like that would indicate a touch of childishness when not happy. UTG

Ok, maybe we have had it better over the years, like the three times in the second tier, but it was never going to last. This time feels for real (also bearing in mind the chinese whispers floating bout) because they're talking sustainable growth - for once. I was born 1950 by the way, first game Liverpool at home in 1962.

Lets face it, although many hoped we would be back in the league by now following that fateful game v Mansfield, being in L1 in such short space of time exceeded most, if not all, of our expectations.
Although a lot of the things DC does surprises me and I don't always agree with many decisions, he usually gets it right in the end.
I don't think this will happen but even if we got relegated I think his stock with us is great enough to stick with him and go again.
A decent scouting network would be a step in the right direction.

I was born 1950 by the way, first game Liverpool at home in 1962. In recent times under Holloway and then Trollope in Div 1 I doubt we sat thinking "this isn't sustainable" both of those spells were as good if not better than the present one. I'm not sure having a Development side makes the club anymore sustainable than not having one, particularly when DC shows no desire to play the likes of Broom in league games.

Dc is a victim of his own success, and also the comfortable finish last year.

BUMP.
I have stopped coming on here because of all the negative nonsense, so, having returned for a quick browse I was pleased to see this, let's keep it on page one of the threads.
UTG, and continued thanks to and for DC.
