Like many others I felt the squad was short of three good standard league 1 players - a central defender, a defensibve mid-fielder and a wide midfielder/winger. Wide midfielder/winger needed to give options for formations. That in my view that is still the minimum for January. Trouble is that will add at least £300k to the wage bill even before transfer feees, agents fees and re-location costs which will probably add at least as much again. Will the family fund these minimum requirements and will DC get the recruitment right this time if they do? Who knows?

It was a strange atmosphere from the start today. Not sure if the early goal was entirely the reason as it seemed flat before ko.
I cant believe the wombles weren't at least 4 or 5 up by half time we were that bad. The one positive is the lads kept going second half but in truth we didn't look like scoring until Browner smashed in.

If we were interested, in say, a player from Rochdale where a 2 bed terraced costs 60-70,000. He's going to be asking for a effing big salary to move to here, where a similar house is going to cost him 300,000. I have no doubt we are going to be stuck with the likes of bargain basement players like Broadbent (no disrespect). No agent worth his salt, will allow his player to move here and be worse off.

How can anyone at the match blame Smith when he's kept us in the match? Why OC gets anywhere near the starting 11 is beyond me. For once I agree wholeheartedly with you Topper.

Rose tinted fans wake up we have been fed a crock of crap and the result of this is now facing you on the pitch - it’s not being negative but about being realistic. As a good friend stated not too long ago ‘ it’s a case of the kings new clothes’. - 100% bang on!! Is that similar to the Emperor's new clothes ??

Terrible first half display. It's not an exaggeration to say we could've been 4-0 down after 25 minutes and 6-0 at half time and would've been if it wasn't for a couple of decent saves from Smith and some shocking finishing. The way Wimbledon breezed through our midfield and defence with ease at times was embarrassing.
Broadbent was poor today with a couple lapses in concentration that could've proved costly, but Lockyer was even worse - the first goal was far too easy with Locks and Leads at fault allowing Barcham through virtually unchallenged, although to be fair to him in the end he finished the goal well with a lovely dink over Smith. The second goal was a quality finish from a quality player in Forrester, but he was allowed to cut inside far too easily for my liking. The third goal was schoolboy stuff - a large punt forward, one touch and the second in the back of the net. Shocking defending, again Lockyer's side.
With Sincs narrow on the right side and Sercs on the left, the lack of width and wingers was there for all to see. Not to mention the lack of a genuine quality defensive midfielder to shield the back four in the side which is proving costly.
We need to add quality to the side - a winger (or two), a defensive midfielder, a centre back and a goalscorer. January can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned.

I think that's a good point ...only option is to commute from Newport

Let's admit it, a lot of the dark cloud over the club is down to rumours started on this forum. yeah that’s the issue with gasincider and his bullshit. We aren’t the only ones to read it and look what can happen. Cheers mate Haha, so it's all gasincider's fault. He's some powerful dude.

January is 6 weeks away which must be at least 6 or 8(?) games, we can't just set and wait for the transfer window to open or we could be in the drop zone by then, we did to get a defence coach in now, surely Yates would sooner help us out than go Xmas shopping with the misses? Regardless who thinks we will get players in on the 1st rather than 31st? You have to question whether Thursday's Having a Gas interview by DC should have been allowed by the club to go out unedited it now seems to me as bad as Ratner's cr@p comments.

Well that was Dam awful. Lockyer at fault for the first , brown for the second , diddnt see third as I was chatting. We should of been dicked by at least 6 today. Smith made two great saves , Harrison worked his socks off , leadbitter played well and so did sercs. Rest of them were pants. Goodnight all.

Just got back.
Woeful display.
Thought Harrison worked hard again, Leds looked good going forward in the 2nd half, at least he was putting a shift in. What's the point of pumping high balls up to Nicholls? Why is Ollie Clarke the invisible man this season?
Only plus point of the day was the reception given to the armed services, and the immpecable observation of the minute's silence.
I think that DC can turn this around, needs to show a little less loyalty and give other players a change. Also needs backing in the January transfer window so that he can get in a couple of players that are top of his list, and not have to wait to pick up the scraps which are left at the end of the month.
I have a horrible feeling that Ellis will be off in January.

How many of us booed off DC at half time I was not by myself then we fans need to wake up to reality and stop the dreaming that everything will be ok around the corner and do what ? Smell the coffee.

DC has acknowledged he needs to add a defensive coach and has already unsuccessfully approached a few people. As much as I like Yatesy, he was here last season and we still conceded more or the same amount as three relegated sides. Hopefully the right person is found and willing to join ASAP.
