I hate the term rose tinters. Its used as a last ditch attempt at insulting people who don't agree with a negative point of view.
edit: with that in mind the phrase sh** tinters will now be employed for those with negative views.......haha
You’ll be using “ sh** tinters” quite a bit over the next week or so I’d imagine.

Been supporting the Gas for 50 years and for those on here who keep banging on about doom and gloom, trust me we've seen worse times, I will continue to support my team and manager whenever I can.

I'm not a rose tinter or a sh** tinter. I don't give a toss about the infrastructure. I expect my team with nigh on 9000 paying fans every home game to be competing at the top end of the table. I support BRFC. DC has done well to get us to this division, but I fail to see the love-in. The team HE has assembled looks lightweight and disjointed. The run we are on is sacking material, no matter what.
If I was the owner I'm not sure I would trust him to spend it wisely.
He's not the saviour. He's a very naughty boy!

I have been and always be a Gashead. I don't care to much about all the going on's in the background because i have no control over that. What i do have control over is my support for the greatest football team in the whole galaxy and beyound And that’s it in a nutshell isn’t it? We’re not rose-tinkers we’re just fans. If it were as bad as some are making out what can the overwhelming majority do? Sod all is the answer. We could protest just like Orient fans or stay away like Blackpool fans but the truth of it is no one would need to take much notice of it. We can come on here and voice our concerns but not much else. We have to trust, or not, that our owners have the best of intentions for our club. At the moment all I can do is support my team just as I’ve always done and have hope that things will get better. I have no influence or ability to do anything else so that’s what I will do. COYB! UTG!

I can't recall a similar period or doom and gloom after everything looked so positive, this time last year we were still in with a chance of the play offs, about to buy a training ground and the talks with the UWE sounding promising. Now we're worried about relegation, there's no sign of progress on the training ground and Wael apparently said yesterday there's even a hitch with regenerating the Mem. Added to that there's a £10m charge against the Mem and I fear neither Wael or DC have a clue how to get us out of the mess we're in.

Great post, sums it all up perfectly well, in the past twelve months, all our hopes have been scuppered, we all got sucked in by the Jordanians, after the Higgsie era, we probably would have gone with anything which had the words "new training facility and delivery on a new stadium at the UWE" in its message. All turned out to be utter ********. And poor old DC was dazzled by a long term contract, but forgot to read the terms around a ******* budget; which now means, we could be going back to Bath City, cap in hand, if the owners decide to sell the ground to a developer. Second verse the same as the first in 1986. Utg

Of course there’s a hitch regarding developing the Mem, there’s loads and it will be a long and painstaking process. You didn’t need Wael to tell you that did you ? But we crack on get behind the team and do our best that’s what we do we are supporters.

I love the Gas and will always follow our fortunes and take a very keen interest.
I'm not going to throw my toys out of the pram every time we hit a bad run, though. What actual good does that do? Even if it happens collectively as a fan base, it very rarely is a force for good.
Opinions against DC or the players or the board are perfectly valid but surely need to be put across in a constructive way. I hate to read stuff like 'Lockyer should be stripped of the captaincy' as if he is a naughty boy, or that 'Sinclair has zero ability' or that 'DC is trying to get the sack in order to get a pay off.' These guys are trying their best, even if they are struggling and deserve far more respect for what they have achieved for our club.
Important though this club is to all of us, surely we all have more important things in our lives? The level of vitriol expressed on here leaves a very sour taste for me, coming during our first seriously bad run after consecutive promotions. Let's not spread this poison and learn from what happened when we last got relegated from this league. The atmosphere at the home games towards the end of that season was truly horrible. If we keep our equilibrium as a fan base we may actually help our team to recover. If we lose it, surely we're only making the club's task much harder.

Amazed there's anyone left now who isn't seriously concerned about the situation. There is obviously a link between the situation off the field and the deteriation in results and performances. During the wasted 18 months of UWE negotiations, one would have hoped that the Mem redevelopment as plan 'B' would not have been mothballed but actively explored as a viable alternative but that seems not to have been the case now with 'Snags' holding it up.Can't help thinking that in ten years time we will still be fobbed off with political platitudes and nothing happening. Bad vibes ,bad performances(yesterday was as bad as it gets) and little of any substance being communicated from on high.Don't think we'll break 8000 for the next home game with fans seemingly losing patience.Great atmosphere initially yesterday with the Army etc but almost despairing at the end. i have to disagree, i thought you could feel the tension in the ground, right from the off. To go a goal down within 2 mins, just made it worse. The feeling within the club isn't good, like it or not it's rubbing off on the players. DC has a massive job in his hands, I still think he's the one to sort it, but he he needs funds in January or we will struggle. UTG⚽️💙

Until then, why believe it and why not be positive?
