What a mess. I get the feeling that the 'yes' vote are edging ahead. First off, what idiots decided on a First Past The Post winner? For a potential huge change like this the winning line should have been a Major Majority, say two-thirds of the total votes cast. It looks like being a close thing either way. If it's 51% no and 49% yes, the yes people will only continue to shout and demand another vote in a couple of years and the the issue will never go away. If it's 51% yes and 49% no, then a huge amount of people (49%) will be forced into a major change that they don't want. For various reasons, I really hope they vote "YES"

I agree it is a complete mess and either way, millions will be left dissapointed but I think they should vote no. Mainly becasue it could have a massive bearing on the way this country functions just after we have come through (or coming through) a really hard time for a lot of people.

But if the vote is 'No' and it's close, you just know the same old people will continue to campaign for another vote and we'll not hear the end of it.

If its a yes vote, lets hope the government removes the pound and the mod brings the ship repair and stuff back to England, my opinion is if they want to break away let them but do it properly ,break totally, and all the money we spend there spend in the rest of the uk, but whats the betting if they did go it alone and the uk put up the shutters they would whine about that.

inee. That will never happen. If they do vote 'yes', which I cannot see, they will bend us over for years to come. We cannot even legislate properly against people travelling from other continents thousands of miles away let alone a landlocked country intermingled in lots of ways. They will strip us of plenty in the name of fairness.

A 'yes' vote will bring an increase in jobs. They'll need things like a Passport Office or Vehicle Licensing Centre for example. The full infrastructure a nation needs. However, these are all Public Sector jobs, which will cost taxpayers money. They are not jobs that will increase the tax intake. I'm not sure where the money will come from......and with Gordon Brown leading the 'no' campaign what can possibly go wrong?
"We cannot even legislate properly against people travelling from other continents thousands of miles away let alone a landlocked country intermingled in lots of ways." - It would be impossible to close the border, so all those illegals in Calais just need to get to Scotland and travel South. The only way to deal with this problem is to change the Welfare System so it's impossible for people to just arrive and start receiving benefits. Do our political class have the balls to do that?

i know i wont happen but it needs to, as Scotland know if they go solo the weak idiots in power will bend and yield to em fo revermore, just think of all the jobs in the north ,building a new border wall to rival the great wall of china , i just believe if they want out it should be 100% out ,move defence jobs back into the uk, money spent in scotland on the nhs fire services defence etc bring it all home, and if they end up wprse of its their problem not ours. nobby an idea i had years ago was all immigrants go to old barracks on arrival, women sort out the camps and in return get the staple foods to feed their families, the men are picked up at 8am and go off doing things like cleaning parks ,repairing potholes etc, in return the get accommodation and some money, anyone who says nope send em back where they came from, anyone who did the tasks for a year or two would be given the option to stay, people said i was racist etc, but to my mind it would sort those who want to contribute from those who swallow the hype, look at recent documentaries about the influx of Europeans, to get benefit they have to have had work so the way around it was to go scrapping for another immigrant get laid of and claim, an awful lot of immigrants say they send money back to their families ,doesnt that say something about how they have managed to work our system, dont get me wrong those who want to come here and work fine but those who want to take f**k off

If you've served inee, then you just know the correct name :-)
No, not the Orkney's. They (plus Shetland) do not want to be part of an Independent Scotland !

Massive thanks to Alex Salmond today for a huge achievement. You just got the English a greater say in their own affairs.
