Just back after a hard earned win. MOM imo was either Danny L or Ellis H. After not seeing us for a few months I wasn’t expecting too much but I thought we were excellent in the second half against a poor Rotherham team. Leadbitter was excellent with some great crosses which was crying out for a CF to head them in not a BB! To win after going one down says everything about the character of the team and Ellis never gave their defence a moments peace. He chased down everything and got a deserved goal and an assist. And when Gaffney came on we looked even better up front with causing their defence real trouble. After the stuff I’ve said about defending crosses I thought Sweeney and Tom L were pretty strong and once Tom stopped booting the ball up to Ellis as he did in his first few touches and then played it on the ground we looked better. One of the best things about this win was we did it without relying on BB. Had some nice touches but missed an open goal with his header and always looked better picking the ball up in midfield rather than when it was played up to him. Well done everyone and DC to have got a win after a cr** week. A win against Southend and the conversations will be different! UTG!

Surely some scouts must have their eyes on Ellis after the season he's had so far?
Hope not though.

What happened to the pitch today? Looked awful from the start with it cutting up in huge lumps. Can’t think that’s the surface DC was asking for earlier.

Considering the run we've been on & the atmosphere around the club I thought today was an outstanding effort. To go a goal down with their first shot on target & still have the character to come back & win shows just what an honest bunch of players we have. It's wasn't pretty at times but we were good value for the win. Thought both Leadbitter & Harrison we're excellent. We look a lot more solid with Partington in a holding role definitely something worth persevering with. Onwards & upwards Couldn’t make it today but from your report it sounds like everthing we could have hoped for. Partington doing what he did at Blackburn breaking up their play and a solid performance from us and a win with some good performances throughout the team. On to Saturday a win will take us up to mid table we have to stay positive and get behind the team and management we’ve seen way worse times than this , we’ve got a great manager with a squad that will run through walls for him despite their lack of quality and a man behind the scenes who has fallen for his club and he’s got a very rich family. Yeah the rest of his family are yet to be convinced but slagging them off on social media isn’t going to do us any favours is it. We need patience and hope that in time they get the Gashead bug like Wael has. It might come it might not but there’s nothing we can do about that except maybe turning it up a notch and we’re Capable of that , it’s what made me fall for this club so Maybe Waels family will too.

Leadbitter didn’t put a bad cross in today! Wtf!!!! Which game were you at then? He did get a few decent crosses in today which made a nice change, but messed up as many.

No ‘credit where credit’s due’ in midlandgas213’s world? God help us if you think this was a good game. It was the result that was good, but we have become the most predictable team in the division. At least 70% of the time we just lump it forward more in hope than expectation. Lost count of how many corners and free kicks Rotherham had , that we had all 11 players back defending. We still defend far to deep, and just don't seem to have any sort of game plan. Last week at Bkackburn was far more like the way we should play, but today he kept the same team, and decided to defend at the 18 yard line. Ridiculous. I really think its our tactics that are causing us more more problems than the opposition.

Leadbitter didn’t put a bad cross in today! Wtf!!!! Which game were you at then? He did get a few decent crosses in today which made a nice change, but messed up as many. Danny’s all sbout speed and getting down to the line and causing chaos in their back four yeah he f**ks up and he creates too. leadbitter has set up plenty of important goals for us over the last couple of years. He set up a beauty away to Oxford last season for Twatty failure so he can do it. I think leads and Brown miss Taylor more than any other player they set up plenty of goals for him. Ellis is alright with the floaters and he does nod the odd one in but I think with our squad we’re better off powering them in whipped and fast Bodin , Sercombe, Rory/ volly’s with power we lack that target man but we always have under D.C. and we’ve always scored from crosses. But not in traditional sense , Brown has been our no 2 assists for the last two seasons behind lines . Browner powers them in so does Gafney I’d like to see Leadbitter run inside more he scored away against think it was Lincoln a couple of years ago where he cut inside ran and ran at them they backed off . He’s so Dam fast if he had more confidence and the ok from the manager he’d be lethal.

It worked today we won but the tactics weren’t right ? ,you say we should have played more like against Blackburn where we lost . I’m so glad your not manager of my club.

Anyone know if Danny has ever been used as an out and out winger during his career. I know the make up of our squad makes it tricky but would be nice to try at some point.

Home or not, it mades sense to try and be tight, not conceed. Imagine if we went all out attack and got picked off ala the Wimbledon game. People would be slaugtering DC and the team. Means to an end yesterday and hopefully boosted some confidence
