Danny started as a centre back and converted to RB at Newcastle when he didn’t grow and was too small to play CB so no didn’t really get used as a winger mainly attacking RB

No ‘credit where credit’s due’ in midlandgas213’s world? God help us if you think this was a good game. It was the result that was good, but we have become the most predictable team in the division. At least 70% of the time we just lump it forward more in hope than expectation. Lost count of how many corners and free kicks Rotherham had , that we had all 11 players back defending. We still defend far to deep, and just don't seem to have any sort of game plan. Last week at Bkackburn was far more like the way we should play, but today he kept the same team, and decided to defend at the 18 yard line. Ridiculous. I really think its our tactics that are causing us more more problems than the opposition. “God help us if you think this was a good game” - odd thing to say considering I didn’t: 1) Say this. 2) Suggest this. What I suggested was that DC deserved some credit for the win. We created 4/5 very good chances and did more than enough to break our losing streak with a vital 3 points. Was it pretty? No. Was it a massive win that both the manager and players deserve credit for? Yes. We undeservedly went 1-0 down against the run of play, DC made two substitutions that changed the game, and we came back and won 2-1. For me, that means DC deserves some credit. Reading my post properly before replying would probably help.

Indeed it was against Lincoln

Partington was poor yesterday. When Lines came on you could immediately see the difference in quality. Party played a couple of decent passes, but his ball-winning (air & ground) were poor all game.

My mate staying here next weekend as his team ,Sunderland are at Molineux, only 20 miles away.Sunderland haven't won at home for 364 days if they don't win their next home game-Fulham- but they still get crowds of over 25,000.Think we're doing ok by comparison.

I didn’t think Parts did too badly yesterday. He does give some rigidness to the back for but it doesn’t give you much attacking quality. Which is what you want at home ideally.
However I don’t think DC was wrong to start him. But I agree we looked a little more fluid when Lines came on. Helped of course by them going down to 10 men.
Leads did very well yesterday. You can’t expect any winger to have 100% crossing accuracy on to the head of our strikers but he was certainly better than at other games this year.

I like most people thought Parts was excellent yesterday. Most of the passes to leads came from him. He allowed sincs to go anywhere he wanted as he was there to cover. The only headers he lost were against the giant up front. Tom never won a header all day against him either. For me Lines didn’t do anything that Parts wasn’t already doing. Gaffeny for Clarke was the difference. I agree with most people on here is that he is organising the team on the pitch much better than Tom and will probably end up as captain.

Reading my post properly before replying would probably help. Damn right. Let's put this into context. There was a time in very recent memory when we didn't come back from being behind to win a game for about 2 seasons worth of games! Add in the fact we'd lost 9 out of our last 10 games and the negativity surrounding the club regarding off-field matters, then that performance yesterday deserves massive credit purely for the character our players and manager showed.

Leads in the first half put two crosses in which BB and Sercs managed to head over when it looked easier to score, not sure what more we can expect from a full back.
I thought Parts did OK but OC had another shocker, and also needlessly booked early in the first half, so our central midfield created little, can Luke Russe be any worse than OC.

If James Clarke ever comes back from injury it could be an option. What is James Clarke injury ? Can't remember what has been said about it !

Indeed it was against Lincoln Im sure he did do that v lincoln but when he cuts inside hes then having to play the ball with his weak left foot. Hes very quick so usually opts to go outside the full back and as long as he can maintain that standard of crossing[rotherham] its not so bad imo.

Yeah I like Leads the one thing that worry’s me is that he’s not strong enough defensively. He’s easily muscled off the ball at times. But then I suppose if he bulked up he would lose some pace.

Maybe when the much talked about Consortium takes over they will buy a £m right back to replace him ? I won't hold my breath on that one

Think Parts is poor at heading for a big guy - a few of them went backwards not forwards on Sat. He's just a stop-gap selection until hopefully we can get better in Jan. He did ok though.

It worked today we won but the tactics weren’t right ? ,you say we should have played more like against Blackburn where we lost . I’m so glad your not manager of my club. Were you there? If so you will know that we were beaten by a dodgy ref and linesman. But our play was 100% better than against Rotherham. Wouldn't argue though that the result was all that mattered.

The difference was the pitch. Theirs was like a carpet ours was like an allotment after 19 minutes. If a player is having to concentrate hard to control a ball bouncing all over the place he’s not yet thinking of the next pass.

Beating the ROT Saturday was a great result
Coming from behind after conceding against the run of play made it even better
Of course Ellis should have got the MoM award but some people are never going to give him credit - I hope we don't lose him in January
Good to see Billy Boy nearly fit again and regaining his touch - better still that he didn't get injured
The pitch looked awful, we were talking about it before the game and by ten minutes in there were some big sheets lifting up that we could see from the West side
The ref didn't help the game at times with some erratic decisions and particularly NOT MAKING DECISIONS on several occasions - Leads' shirt was all but off on one occasion and nothing happened - blimey, even the Evil Post mentioned that one
Despite all The Gas came to the top, (over the Rot anyway per the scoreboard), justice was done for once (we were the better of two poor sides) and it gives us a chance of building a good platform by winning again at Fortress Mem next Saturday
Keep faith in DC and his merry men UTG!
