Smith 5
Leadbitter 4.5 Lockyer 5 Sweeney 5 Brown 4.5
Partington 5 Sinclair 4 Sercombe 4.5
Bodin 4.5 Gaffney 6.5 Why was our most dangerous player by far taken off Marcus ?? Harrison 6.5
Subs: Lines 5.5 Nichols 4 Telford
Crowd 6 Ref 4 Doncaster 6
We didn't play well but on our 2nd half performance we deserved a draw against a bang average Doncaster. Was the wind that strong that we couldn't do anything first half ?? Sad to say it but we are in a relegation fight now - especially with 2 away games coming up.

Smith 4 - poor kicking Leadbitter 3 - cannot defend for toffee Brown 3 - past his best Lockyer 1 - truly shocking Sweeney 2 - very poor Sinclair 2 - sideways backwards sideways backwards Sercombe 4 - trys but in a sh** team Gaffney 3 - tried but ineffective Bodin 1 - heart is elsewhere Harrison 5 - at least he battled Partington 4 - ok but not the answer
Lines 3 - not much of an improvement Telford - NOLE Nichols - NOLE
Ref 3 - at least he got the penalty right Crowd 5 - tried but nothing to shout about D.C. 9 - for staying home in bed
Simply shocking! No quality, no tactics, no heart, no fight, no leaders, no ideas, no defence no midfield, no strikers, thank you and goodnight!!!!

Smith 5 Awful kicking, even with the wind behind him
Leadbitter 5.5 Good effort, just not his day Lockyer 5 Hate to say it, but if anyone offers good money for him I'd take it Sweeney 5 Becoming more ordinary each match. Brown 5 Some poor decision making
Partington 5.5 Uncertain as to what his role was today Sinclair 5 Ran around a lot as per Sercombe 5.5 Occasional signs of taking a grip, but otherwise out of sorts
Bodin 5 Get some money now before he goes for free Gaffney 6 Showed interest and tried hard Harrison 7 Best forward AND defender
Subs: Lines NOLE Nichols NOLE Telford NOLE
Crowd 8,300 was a bluddy good attendance considering............. Ref 4 missed so much Doncaster 5 A poor side which beat us!

Smith 5 kicking poor other than that looked ok Leadbitter 5 tried hard but little end product Lockyer 4 too many misplaced passes Sweeney 3.5 back to his awful worst Brown 4 expected to bomb forward but was usually in no mans land Partington 5.5 better than most but thats not saying much Sinclair 4 poor, looked out of his depth today Sercombe 5.5 tried to create things ,the best of an ineffective midfield Bodin 4 obviously had his mind elsewhere Gaffney 6 worked tirelessly so he gets subbed, madness!. Harrison 6.5 as usual looked up for it,deserves his wages Subs: Lines 4 no impact whatsoever Nichols n.o.l.e Telford n.o.l.e Crowd 7 good numbers on black Saturday Ref 5 got penalty right bang average Doncaster 5 a poor unattractive team ,they wont have an easier game this season

Smith 7 little to do.
Leadbitter 6.5 material girl. Lockyer 6 just not captain material. Sweeney 5.5 don't know what material. Brown 6.5 legend.
Partington 6 ok but poor passing. Sinclair 6.5 tried hard. Sercombe 6 poor by his standards.
Bodin 5 whom? Gaffney 7.5 nice try. Harrison 7.5 m o m nice try.
Subs: Lines 6.5 one good run and shot. Nichols 5 unlucky as his hook back for disallowed goal was adjudged to be behind line. Telford nole.
Crowd 8 great black Saturday turnout. Ref 6.5 ok but got important decisions wrong. Doncaster 5.5 came for a point, robbed us of 3! Physical and gamesmanship.

Smith - 4. Not much to do but what he did do, he didn't do very well (kicking).
Leadbitter - 6. At times a threat but would have liked to have seen more going forward. Brown - 6. Solid enough and as ever, consistent. Feel that both full backs suffer (and get criticised for) due to a lack of a wide player in front of them. Lockyer - 4. Didn't do too much wrong as such, but isn't inspiring confidence at the moment. Fed up with that diagonal ball aimed somewhere near Ellis too! Sweeney - 3. What has happened to the player of last season. Young, learning the game and therefore inconsistent I guess. We really need an experienced centre half ala Macca, Tilson etc at the moment.
Partington - 6. Did ok as a screen for the defence, but Donny's lack of ambition hardly tested him. Sinclair - 6. Busy and committed as ever. Not his best game, but every side needs a player like him who does the dirty work. Sercombe - 5. An enigma. Capable, shows quality at times and has a goal in him. Goes missing at times too though. Today was one of those times.
Gaffney - 7.5. An increasing threat before be was substituted. When he went off, we looked less dangerous. Given no protection by the ref. Bodin - 4. We missed his spark. Harsh, too easy and therefore unfair to say his heart is elsewhere, but today he couldn't get anything right. That said, the service to him was too often in the air though. He's got great feet...let's give the ball to them! Harrison - 8 MOM. Ran his heart out and like Rory didn't get a fair deal from the ref. Good example for any kids watching of how to defend from the front.
Lines - 6. Did ok. Want him further forward though. Nichols & Telford - NOLE.
Ref - 1. Remembered his kit but I can't think of anything else he did well. Played lime a fiddle by Donny's timewasting tactics. 1 minute added in 1st half?!!!
Crowd - pretty decent on Black Saturday.
Doncaster - 5. Did a job on Billy and on the ref. Part of me thinks we need to.be as ugly as that away from home at times, but then I remember that this is an entertainment and I'm glad I don't watch them every week. Horrible, ugly, negative side.

Smith 5 - not much to do but does not inspire confidence. Poor distribution at times
Leadbitter 5 - defensively weak and not as good as usual going forward Lockyer 5.5 - Ok at times, but not a leader, distribution poor at times and prone to mistakes Sweeney 5 - looked poor when put under any pressure Brown 5.5 - ok at times but too many unforced mistakes
Partington 5 - not very commanding Sinclair 5 - effort there but quality wasn't Sercombe 5.5 - best of the midfield but didn't dominate
Bodin 3 - looked totally disinterested Gaffney 6.5 - committed performance and the main attacking threat Harrison 7.5 - not his best game but if they all tried as hard as Ellis we would have won. He seemed to head clear every corner and attacking free kick that Donny had. Made one memorable interception chasing back. Would be more effective in attack if he did not need to defend as much. From zero to hero in a few months. Well played Ellis. Now my favourite player.
Subs: Lines 4.5 - no impact Nichols 3 - really needs to start and make an impact even when on for a short time Telford 5 - not much of an impact but more than Nicholls
Crowd 7 Ref 4 Doncaster 5 - won because they were slightly more organised than us. If we had gone 4-4-2 with Billy wide I think that we would have been more effective

He gave up running the game and let the players with the loudest mouths run it instead so two less for him (3)

Results finally in and Ellis Harrison was Man of the Match with a score of 6.56. This was Harrison's 10th MotM in league games this season. Only once before has a player reached double figures in a season, Lockyer with 13 in League Two. This was the 101st game that Nortongashead gave a player rating score for. His average rating over all of these games is a 6.18, compared to the average of 6.32. Only stevek192 with 171 has contributed more. Two other posters are also very close to bringing up a century of ratings. The starting XI average was 4.76. Smith 5.1 Leadbitter 4.8 Lockyer 4.2 Sweeney 3.9 Brown 4.4 Partington 5.0 Sinclair 4.3 Sercombe 4.8 Bodin 3.4 Gaffney 6.1 Harrison 6.6Subs: Lines 4.2 Nichols 3.3 Telford 4.0 Crowd 6.4 Ref 4.3 Doncaster 5.0
