I'm struggling, to be honest, but this is the best I can come up with for the players we have. Ellis must be given orders to play as an out and out centre forward, with Sercombe and Sinclair expected to play fairly advanced across the midfield three. Lines and Partington can pick a pass, width from Leadbitter and Bola, but concerns about the solidity of the defence and the lack of firepower emphasizes that we really need to strengthen, unless Nichols or Telford miraculously show they can step in and fill Billy's boots. Obviously with Leads injured at the moment anyway, this is probably a non-starter of a system at present GK: Smith LWB: Bola CB: Lockyer CB: Sweeney CB: Broadbent RWB: Leadbitter DCM: Partington CM: Lines CM: Sinclair CM: Sercombe CF: Harrison

Please anything but wingbacks. It just has not worked at all this season because we struggle to have two centre backs on form let alone two9 and our full backs are needed to defend first and foremost. If DC doesn't learn from the first half of the season and fails to sign two wingers then a relegation battle will be on. We now need 4 or 5 players having lost Billy and as we have no chance of a like for like signing then we need to change our entire philosophy to become a pacey attacking team.

No worries gasheads just look at our form while Bodin was injured recently.
1 question, Can we play 2 goalkeepers and sacrifice an outfield player..asking for DC

Well we might have a few new players before the Blackpool game, also are leads and Moore gonna be available by then?? Moore can like for like swap with Billy in terms of keeping the same formations (not ideal in many peoples opinions i’m sure lol) but 5 at the back with J. Clarke and Leads injured leaves us defenderless on the bench doesn’t it? Could cause head aches if more people get injured.. I think we need to just get a couple of new faces in asap What will happen if Moore replaces BB, really steps up to the plate and has a storming end to the season. Suddenly he's the hottest free agent in the summer with every league one and championship side battling for his services. Will members of this forum be hopping mad saying the board should have seen this coming, we've let another of our best players leave and why wasn't he under a long term contract which would have enabled us to sell for millions!!!!! Just have to wait and see about that I guess, I’m just stating fact really, I don’t speak to any Rovers fan that rates him and wants him to play so it’s not gonna be a popular replacement if it does happen, I won’t complain if he performs

If we make no signings before Saturday and assuming everyone is fit, this would be my preferred lineup:
- - - - - - - - - - - - Smith - - - - - - - - - - Leads - - Lockyer - - Broadbent - - Bola - - - - - - - - - - - Partington - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sercs - - - - - - - Lines - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sincs - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Harrison - - - - Gaffney - - - -
The pace of Bola and Leads bombing up and down the flanks I think could be crucial if we were to play without wingers. Sercombe and Lines have the license to go forward and play a bit with Partington holding the midfield together and supporting the defence behind them. And I think the work rate of those front 3 would stop any League One team playing out from the back. Sinclair has the running in him to terrorise defences if he’s given a free role. UTG!
