I just got so fed up of being dragged into some of the nastiest board bashing, player bashing, club bashing and fan bashing I've read on here for quite some time that I've stepped back. Still read though. Cheers. Bags. Hello Bags nice to hear from you, as you can see the forum has calmed down and everyone is getting along just fine. 🤡 How’s your arse! Any chafing from the gimp mask?

I’m sorry but surely this is a forum based on opinions and whilst there is no abuse why on earth shouldn’t I be allowed to voice ones opinion ? I do think that there are many of our supporters who actually think that everything is fine and dandy in the rose garden . As you were. So why not explain why it isn't? Really? Lol . Sorry my mistake we are being run in an exemplary fashion not accruing potentially life threatening debts ,gone are the days that we worry for our future existence , we are not selling our best players any longer , we have a beautiful 21,700 seated stand currently being built , a state of the art category 2 training facility almost under completion and a budget fit for a top 6 finish helping towards our goal of a playoff push and eventually championship football . There was a time when we were absolutely light years behind our south Bristol rivals but since the takeover that has narrowed somewhat significantly to the point we are now almost on a level playing field as them . Our manager seems so happy in his pre and post match interviews thus even pledging his undying love and allegiance towards his employers the Al Qadi family . The interaction between our chairman Mr Steve Hamer and our fellow supporters is unquestionable , really fills us all with the utmost confidence and excitement in how our club has progressed and continues to progress on and off the field . The future really is fine and dandy in the rose garden . These are exciting times to be a Bristol Rovers fan and after all these years of hurt and squashed dreams we are now starting to realise our true potential. .............., Carlsberg don’t do football clubs but if they did ...............

If you have supported the Gas since 1979 and feel like that now, you must have been a bundle of fun over the years It's always been the on-field stuff that has kept us going. If you take that away, what are you ever left with as a football fan? It won't surprise you to know that I've been called gullible and easily pleased before on this forum. With experience, I have learned to take that as a compliment That's because you're easily pleased. Thanks for the compliment!

It starts subtly enough. Then the threshing machine gets turned up a gear. Then by about that poster's fourth post on that thread the relentless negativity behemoth is whirring at full speed. This is a pretty light hearted thread about a forum member not posting for a while. Can you help me understand why you think this sort of comment is relevant here please? I’m sorry but surely this is a forum based on opinions and whilst there is no abuse why on earth shouldn’t I be allowed to voice ones opinion ? I do think that there are many of our supporters who actually think that everything is fine and dandy in the rose garden . As you were. I'm not saying you're not allowed opinions I'm asking why you think it's relevant to express your opinion of general, directionless, negativity on this thread which is a jovial chat about when Baggins last posted?

Yes course there is , in fact it’s only on field affairs that make us keep the faith . I’ve been going to Rovers since 1979 and Eastville born and bred so yes I do know a few things about Gasheads being one of them. Still surprises me though how gullible and easily pleased some of our fans are . It starts subtly enough. Then the threshing machine gets turned up a gear. This is exactly why I hate threads about the forum or forum members...
They always end up badly to the extent where they either have to be locked or removed....
Edit: nice to see that bags is still about (thought I'd best stay on topic)

Admittedly one where the corpse has peeped out of the coffin lid.

That's just your perception on things though. Bodin was always likely to go. Name me one other team in this league (except Wigan who are almost certainly going straight back up) who could have held on to a player like Bodin with the same scenario. The UWE Stadium isn't happening. Granted. But do you honestly think that if it wasn't in the best interests of the club they would have pulled out? At the end of the day if it was going to make us a sustainable club and eventually a profit why wouldn't they proceed instead of propping the club up by staying at the Mem? The training ground is, according to our chairman, happening and we recently appointed a firm to plan the build. Next the DC interviews. He was merely stating what everyone already knows. We are miles behind regarding infrastructure. I don't see how that is the fault of the owners who have barely been here two years when previous owners have done absolutely sod all to address the issue except chase pipe dreams rather than small steps just to keep us ticking over. You can micro analyse his interviews all you want but just because he might appear slightly down in an interview doesn't mean he doesn't get along with his employers. He might have just had a bad night's sleep! Onto the Hamer part. When there's actually been something worth saying he's said it. Admittedly he doesn't interview well but when called upon he's stepped up. Would you rather go back to the nothing updates from NH every month? Things aren't progressing quickly. The Al Qadis never said they would. Many people seemed to assume they were going to come in and just launch money at the club and are throwing a hissy fit because they haven't.
