Smith 7 Confident display.
Partington 7 scored and did a good job. Lockyer 8 composed captains performance. Broadbent 8 Improving every game, a great find by DC. Bola 7 Decision making questionable but quality with the ball esp going forward.
Lines 7 a good game against good opposition. Took the pen really well under pressure. O. Clarke 8 great game, showed a real hunger to win the ball. Sercombe 9 MOTM absolute class, really hurt Bradford when he got into pockets. The touch that tee'd up his goal was pure class. Sinclair 7 A menace and a constant thorn in Bradford's side.
Gaffney 7 Put in a great shift, his play back to goal is quality. Harrison 9 What a shift! 2 assists and unplayable at times.
Subs: Nichols 5 no real impact Mensah 5 some good touches
Crowd 10 stayed with the boys and got rewarded. Ref 6 funny game pen 50/50 IMO levelled it up with ours. Bradford 4 Outplayed for most parts apart from 15 mins in first half. Our boys were immense yesterday.

Overall a good display with an 8 all round for our boys except the beard 8.5 but Ellis mom with a 9 and bola 3 if we had i q on from the start we could of torn that right side of Bradford apart but bola always wanted to play sideways or back, DC (I'm not. Fan but yes everything worked yesterday if only we can break quicker and shoot on site he would have a 9 from me but I will settle for a 7 Subs Nichols not even bothering to mark him what a waste of time and money , I q needs more play time
Crowd gas 10 Bradford fans 2 v quiet for their numbers Ref 8 yes I think he go their penalty right and gave us a free one Bradford team they were there for the taking yesterday and if we had moved forward faster and shy on site we could have had a hatful

Smith 7 - good attempt at penalty, made one handy save. Would like to see him throw the ball out a bit quicker
Partington 7 - had a tough time against pacy winger, but struck to task well and got the equaliser. Lockyer 7.5 - very solid game against a big opponent Broadbent 8 - as per lockyer, but some good runs forwards, looks very composed on the ball Bola 6.5 - passing a bit wayward but 2nd half really helped going forward and stretched bradford
Lines 7 - good display, calm penalty. O. Clarke 6.5 - unlucky with penalty, scuffed shot nearly went in, coming back towards form Sercombe 8 - excellent finish, real driving force with his direct running. Sinclair 8 - worked his socks off, like him pressing further up the pitch as when win ball puts us on attack.
Gaffney 6.5 - a couple of very poor passes, but runs channels well and good with back to goal still. Harrison 8 - should have scored at end, put typical workrate throughout, always a handful and played some lovely flicks. His industry played big part in us winning
Subs: Nichols 5 - powderpuff, has technique but looks timid on ball. Lacking in confidence Mensah 5.5 - struggled to get into game but kept possession ok.
Crowd 9 - great backing, but credit to players 2nd half for prod cuing intensity to get the crowd excited Ref 6 - penalty controversial but as expected gave us one, so can't be too harsh on him! Bradford 5 - average, barring left winger had little threat, wyke was nullified which killed their game plan

"one of the most ridiculous penalties I have seen" & "farcical" sum up people on here's mood, but I suspect that was based on not seeing it at the time/seeing the replay which clearly show the referee being right in front of the handball.
At the time, as with a lot of the Blackthorn, we weren't sure what it'd been given for, until we heard from people who had a better view and saw it was pretty blatant, though unfortunate.
It bugs me when people sing things like "One nil to the referee" and the like, remember how bad they were in non-league?! Incredibly difficult to be 100% sure, and intent is one of the hardest things to prove.
Mentioned in other threads, but we'd all be up in arms (!) if it was at their end, we'd bellow for a penalty to be given!
Good win though, Broadbent was awesome, Sercombe too.

Smith 7 Did all that was asked of him but still needs to work on his kicking.
Partington 7 did well against a tricky winger and capped it off with a goal Lockyer 8 back to normal and looks better along side Broadbent. Broadbent 9 MOM great display got forward and even put in the best cross of the game Bola 6.5 did ok but needs to track back quicker.
Lines 7.5 put in some good tackles and worked hard O. Clarke 7.5 unlucky with the pen but did not let it get to him Sercombe 8 Got better as the game went on and rounded it of with a great goal Sinclair 7.5 as always ran his socks off
Gaffney 7 good hold up play just his final ball let him down Harrison 8 ran the whole game can't fault his effort
Subs: Nichols 6 needs to go back to basic's and stop all the flicks ! Mensah 7 need to see more of him !
Crowd 8 good vocal support when thing went against us Ref 7 one of the better one's got the penalty spot on and even gave us one in return Bradford 6 if they played football rather than the player thing could have been tough.

Results in and Liam Sercombe was Man of the Match with a score of 8.52.
This was Sercombe's second highest rating in a Rovers shirt after the 8.8 he scored at Northampton.
Marc Bola had the lowest score in the team at 6.63. On only seven previous occasions have the entire starting XI all scored more than this score. The first was the home P/O against FGR (when the lowest score was 6.8), the others were in order: 15/16: Hartlepool-A (6.8), Oxford-A (6.8), Cambridge-H (6.9), Dagenham-H (7.3) 16/17: Oxford-A (6.7) 17/18: Northampton-A(7.2)
Tom Broadbent was runner-up for his third appearance in a row. The only other players to achieve back-to-back-to-back runner-ups are Neal Trotman and Lee Nicholls. Broadbent has been in the top two for 5 of his 16 appearances (31%). The only other players with rates above 30% are Trotman (57%), Burn (33%) and Gaffney (30%).
The starting XI average was 7.46, the third highest of the season after Northampton (A) 8.13 and Southend (H) 7.87.
Smith 6.7
Partington 7.0 Lockyer 7.7 Broadbent 8.4 Bola 6.6
Lines 7.3 O. Clarke 7.3 Sercombe 8.5 Sinclair 7.7
Gaffney 6.7 Harrison 8.2
Subs: Nichols 4.5 Mensah 5.6
Crowd 8.3 Ref 5.7 Bradford 5.5

Apart from anything else, it heaps pressure on the ref to even things up, just in case he might have got it wrong. Not an unusual occurance at all. As soon as their penalty had been tucked away, I said to my mates, "First chance he gets, he`ll give us one too".

It was a pen because whether he meant to or not he stopped the balls movement

However, after delivering 2 promotions (we've only had 6 in our entire history!), creating a team that plays for the shirt and generally "giving us our Rovers back"....what exactly would make you a fan? Genuine question by the way. Not spoiling for an argument, just interested to know what else he could have done.
