Crafty, but clever wording Antonio, Neither crafty or clever wording Newmarket. For the second time this past fortnight, I’ve had to get my violin out for the non existent cause. No one has a cause, its just interesting. It may be that 6 out of 92 is actually a fair representation of BAME compared to players. Hang on, brb....... Ok, Ive done the numbers and last season it's reported that on the opening day of the season 33% of the players were BAME. So if that's a reasonable average then there should be about 25 BAME managers??

Your Mod friend is happy to start an argument if it suits his cause, most of us back off to not ruin the thread but that only makes him think he is as clever as he thinks he is. No win for most of us but if it keeps his ego inflated and I guess that keeps him happy. BTW how many bame players 20 years ago ? It would take around that time for players to work through and move on to manage, I would think ?

Really?? Who would’ve thought. So you agree then? No totally disagree. you cannot use averages regarding ex footballers becoming managers after they retire, it is a totally different ball game, if you pardon the pun. Has anyone ever thought that these people don’t want the hassle or know there own limitations? It took Paul ince what 3/4 attempts before he realised he will never be a manager. Now he has found a job he enjoys? Without the hassle. John Barnes likewise. It really is that simple and only sinister in the minds of people with wrong thoughts at the fore.

Ah, thank you that's a brilliant point and one I hadn't thought of. 25 years ago it was 16% so I suppose 10 or 11 BAME managers would be the theoretical norm. So give or take 6 isn't enough but not so terribly bad.

Thanks for that.

I don't know why but when I read the thread title I immediately thought of Hope Powell. If they had appointed her then the FA would have really covered all bases. Chris Powell just didn't register on my radar.
