A BBC article dominated by ethnicity discussion. When that’s not the point of the article. Shock horror.

To be fair there are only 6 BAME managers in the top four devisions of English football so something worth talking about

Looks a decent appointment for them. I don't see why people care if he's black or not though. As for 6 BAME managers that shouldn't matter a toss either. I'm sure if there were more decent black managers to pick from then there would be more of them in jobs! No doubt that will happen in time with the current influx of foreign players into the English leagues but that will come in time and shouldn't be rushed for statistics sake.

As a manager aren’t you judged on results and style as opposed to skin colour and nationality?
Point is, if you are a manager of any race/religion/ethnic background making a decent fist at a football club you will move up the ladder. Paul Ince was a great player, but a crap manager and that was nothing to do with his skin colour.
Perhaps there aren’t enough minorities showing a desire for management perhaps preferring coaching, punditry or agent work? Or maybe choosing a completely different profession in another part of the world?

Also that people are not taking up management roles through choice. I don't like positive discrimination in any way but given the proportion of BAME players it's not unreasonable to imagine that the same demographic would(should?) be represented at coach/manager level and worth at least asking why not. That said, supposedly 1:10 people are gay yet not a single footballer is.

Crafty, but clever wording Antonio, Why's that? Coz you're dying to disagree with it, but you can't think how to do it?

Crafty, but clever wording Antonio, Neither crafty or clever wording Newmarket. For the second time this past fortnight, I’ve had to get my violin out for the non existent cause.
