I'd be delighted to be wrong. Thing is until very recently we had catastrophic problems at the back and people were screaming out for the need to get leaders or a leader on the pitch. Craig was captain last season when they were promoted and has had a very good career in the championship or league one. He is 33 in april and im pretty sure he played left back against us and scored in there play-off clinching win last season but played in the middle when i went to the new den last season. If it was happening rovers would probably offer him an 18 month deal so i would be happy with us signing an experienced leader. But it might be just another rumour!

Apart from 1 free kick Lawrence was bloody awful 2 promotions in 2 seasons though, would be nice if Craig could repeat the same feat. Err he didn't play in many of them did he?

Would be a decent squad player and useful on the training field, passing on his experience etc, even partly viewed as a player/defensive coach?. I've been massively impressed with how well Broadbent has settled into League One so worry his first team opportunities could get restricted. I wonder what TC's expectations would be in terms of playing time? If he comes he will be coming here to play, most likely at left-back.

Mmm, okay as a bench warmer but can't see him starting too many games. I wasn't overly impressed with him if I'm honest when we lost 4-3 to Millwall back in May. I know he's played left back as well as in the centre of defence and it's useful to have players that can play in different positions. However, he turns 33 in a couple of months and isn't the quickest so I don't see him as first choice; not for full back or centre back. Decent player to have as backup I suppose but I was hoping the sigings we made this month would improve the starting 11. If it does turn out to be Craig I think he'll be warming the bench with Mensah. One a little raw but a hot prospect for the future, the other past his best but good experience to have in reserve. I dont agree myself,if he signs he will play, most likely at left-back imo.

I don't see where Craig fits in tbh. He wants to leave to get games but where will he play for us. He sounds like a LB/left sided CB. Well we have Broadbent in great form at LCB and Sweeney as back up and then if he plays LB, what will that mean for Lee Brown?
He has only started 1 league game for Millwall this season though so I guess any game time is better than none!
Another thing concerning me with Craig is that he is a Millwall fan. Will he have the same heart and passion playing for us as them?

Maybe not, but IMO the fact he wants to leave his boyhood club because he wants to play more games is a good sign. He could very easily sit on the Millwall bench and pick up a Championship wage every week until his contract expires, but he’s choosing not to. I quite like that.

Craig will open up a lot of possibilities for DC, particularly three at the back, could be a very good signing, need a bit more experience in the squad. Let’s hope D.C. can bring in Otis Khan as well. Looks to me that LB's days are numbered if this happens. Can't see Craig being brought in to sit on the bench or playing CB. I believe LB' contract is up in the summer - a great servant for Rovers but maybe time for him to move on. No point signing Khan until tomorrow if this is one of DC's planned signings.

Just in general not keen on signing players on the way down especially after his success of going up with Millwall through the playoffs, will he have the same motivation for us?

Played 12 games according to Wikipedia and was a regular in the Shrewsbury team that got promoted the year before. He wasn't the greatest of players ever but if his experience helped us get over the line ahead of Accrington then he was worth it.

If Craig was to sign as a LB I guess it would give a lot of freedom to whoever plays in front of him, especially if we sign Khan, I'm guessing he would play on that left?

Craig's never player, nor I assume lived, outside of London so it's a Robbie Ryan type transfer to move at this stage of his career, a move to Southend would make a lot more sense, the only thing I can think of is perhaps Easter's sold Rovers to him. Plus if he does sign then for another 6 months we've got Brown & Bola fighting for just a place on the bench unless Brown is off to Exeter?
