The community dept run a club for over 65s. They meet on Tuesdays and often go for outings.
My Dad attends and to be honest after he became a widower several years ago, the club and the friends he has made there was a real God send.
He was speaking to Matt Bennett from the community dept recently and Matt said that there was a very large amount of potential funding available if numbers of attendees was considerably increased.
There are currently around 20 or so regulars and the club offers a lot of benefits for not only Rovers fans but older people from the local community.
They often get subsidised trips. I know they arranged for a few quid off each, from the aquarium and have been allowed free entry to other tours that would usually cost an entrance fee. There us also light exercise and healthy eating sessions and the first team squad helped take a session last year.
If anyone out there has older relatives, neighbours etc why give the club a plug?
(Mods can you add a link to the community website and give Matt Bennett's details) thanks

This isn’t Men only is it? 😉 Extra Time is a weekly group for anybody (men or women) aged over 60.
