Had a chat with Turley on Twitter. He said RoverS were perhaps a little too cautious about his injury which he said was understandable with their history of injured signings. He indicated to the club he had to get signed up asap and if they reallly wanted him hey would have signed him. No grudges and wished us well.Would be nice if our fans could do likewise. The bloke has a family to provide for, and had reached the point where that had to be his priority.

We were sending him for a Ct on the Friday, could he not wait a day??? He didn't even let us know, his agent text Clarke on the Thursday. Can understand him needing money, a few days would not have hurt though. Think they offered him more money and he is using it as an excuse IMO.

At the end of the day we got a fairly settled back line now. Turley may well be a good player, but he got no FL experience what so ever.Playing in the England c team don't mean anything to me. All our boys have loads of FL games under their belts,so they are proven at a higher level.

I can't understand how Turley can effectively fail a medical for us on his arm but then start and be MotM yesterday. Meanwhile, our star signing does even make the bench due to fitness concerns, it could only happen at Rovers!

I do wonder if we have ducked out of it. We have Trotman, Parkes, Lockyer and McChrsytal as CB's so why would we need another? I don't think Clarke expected Trotman to do as well as he has.

Can't understand why we have to have an inquest on players who did or did not sign. As I see it DC did not want Higgins and Turley did not want to play for us having taken the P*** out of DC and the coaching staff who allowed him to train. As for Balanta I did not expect him to be match fit for a while.

if a team wins 4 in a row its bloody hard to break into it,,,so balanta or anyone else has to bide his time and then when his chance comes make sure he takes it,,we have trotman and monkhouse out injured[short term i hope?] and balanta getting fit,,not a bad situation eh???

Bear in mind that Dave Martin is on loan to us, so Balanta may be eased into the team if we cannot extend the Martin deal.
As indicated above, we have good competition for places and a reasonable squad - which I think is going to be important in this league as the season goes on. Some of the part time teams are already starting to struggle for fit players.

Anybody know why Turley wasn't in the squad yesterday? Will he be playing Tuesday night?
