I think there is an issue with the left in that they do sometimes appear very intolerant of those who don't agree with them.
And there is a tendency to being quite militant when things don't go their way too. Protests and such when they lose elections for example.
Personally I think JRM is a snooty upperclass, toff bellend but he was voted in fair and square. If you don't like it, put forward a decent candidate and win back the seat.
His constituency has a recent history of having Tory, Labour and Liberal MPs so it's not like he is in a safe one party seat.
He was voted in. That's how democracy works.

In fairness although they we're obnoxious and I don't agree with them trying to shut down free speech, nothing was kicking off until that lad in the white shirt came steaming in. In the long (3 minute) version you can see him come in. He also seems to strike the woman in the face which is when it went mental. Fair play to JRM for trying to break it up. I think his viewes should have been left in the 18th century, but he came out of it really well. For anyone who is interested he's back at the UWE on Friday night. |
