The reason we lost. An absolutely shocking performance by our midfield. Ollie Clarke was the worst of a bad bunch! The reason we lost today was because they scored 2 goals to our 1.

I don't think we were unlucky, Shrewsbury were the better team, scored two and missed a sitter first half. I can't think of any real chances we had even our goal was fortunate. Couldn't fault our effort but our team play and passing wasn't the best today. Correct. Other than our goal, did we actually have a shot? 8, with 2 on target according to the BBC. Shrews had 5 with 3 on target. We had 55% possession. must admit I was surprised by these stats.

Like most top 3 teams who have come here over the seasons Shrewsbury were tidy professional and street wise. Nothing more. Best team I have seen here this season were Peterborough. They also played the clown of a ref well, always on the edge but no more. E.g. the whole extra time period. If we had been less nieve at the end we would have drawn 1 1 which would have been a fair reflection of the game - they edged it I thought but not enough to have deserved the win. I think we can learn from teams like them re ball retention-we gifted possession away far too much and I felt DC might have given them more respect than we should have. Still it was a lot better than the away fixture and whilst I feel we are a w-i-p there really isnt that much between us and the top 6 - Wigan game will be a real clue as to how much we still need to do UTG

One shot was probably Smith kicking straight to their keeper, the other was our goal. Our off target shots still haven't landed yet.

DC should have tried to keep the single point. Bennett, nicholls and Mensah on and not enough left in defence considering we do not know about the defensive qualities of Bennett or Mensah. There are perhaps times to throw caution to the wind but today was not that day. I fully support DC going for it at home with attacking subs. The Shrews are very strong and organised but no reason for us to meekly settle for and play out a draw.

Better team won for me, their movement was far better, we huffed and puffed but rarely threatened. Both fullbacks again like last week were poor, Parts scored but was slow and weak. As for our two new wide men we were worse when they came on with how we set up. Craig i thought slotted in well. Totally agree. Shrewsbury have no stars in their team but they are well organised and extremely hard working. Gutted to lose so late on but they are streetwise and wanted it more. Organised Yes, Hard Working Yes, streetwise Yes but wanting it more than us? No chance.

Feeling really deflated after that. Was really looking forward to the game. Think 1-1 would have been a fair reflection. Officials again were pants. Gaffney was completely taken out in the first half, no attempt by the defender to play the ball. Anywhere else on the pitch it's a free kick but because it was in the penalty area the ref bottled it. Slightly disappointed with Bennett, maybe trying too hard to impress on his debut. Strange but they seemed to be able to cope with the state of the pitch better than we could! Thought Broadbent had another good game, what a find

Broadbent to me looks superb, he always seems to be in control, strong presence a great find, the game to me was all about the the officials, they were awful, so todays football is all about holding onto players and getting away with, then us as paying fans probably watched about 20 minutes of time wasting, this started so early in the game then eventually ended with ball in the corner flag for a good 5 minutes
