Not a lot in the game at all today draw definitely would have been a fair result, bar the goals I don't think either keeper has really made a save. As for Craig at first viewing I'm not sure his best position is as a centre back, I'd be concerned with him & Lockyer as a pair simply due to neither of them being the biggest. It was noticeable today that the vast majority of the time Broadbent attacked the ball not sure either Craig or Lockyer would be suited to that role. I think he'll either end up at left back or one of a 3 if we play that way. We looked pretty good at the back all game in y opinion. Think we've got a commanding centre back pairing with Broadbent and Craig, they are both leaders. Don't see why a fit TL should walk back into the side, he has not been that great all season. Think in middle we were just a little softer than them today and couldn't keep hold of the ball to dictate the game.

Olly Clarke had one of those games where it looked like he was told to sit deep and mark spaces rather than press . It’s either that or he’s well off of his game because he seems to just watch what’s going on most of the time this season. It’s a far cry from last year when he was voted our player of the season where he was in the opposition faces breaking things up creating and battling he was immense last season , what’s happened Sercombe had one of his 6 out of 10 games today too and Lines was a 7 and stu a 7 where as shrews were all 8s in the middle of the park they weren’t loads better they were just a little sharper and a little more organised., that was before the subs, once they were made we looked weak, the lad from Pompey looks very lightweight and not the right player to bring on today on a heavy pitch against players with superhuman energy and strength which is what Shrewsbury had. Shrewsbury were like us at our very best. Not great technique no individuals but one hell of a tough machine to break down and beat very determined and very impressive.

Thought Lines had a very poor game today, time to put him out to pasture
the Midfield are very one dimensional at the moment and all very predictable.
Ellis looked very unfit today and had trouble jumping.......

Personally, I think he got it wrong today, we were so defensive. , why bring in two wingers and not play em?? They were there for the taking, certainly not a team, that looked like they we're far better than us? I thought we were better when we were more defensive narrow and compact and had the momentum after scoring to go on and win the game but the substitutions and going wide killed our momentum and we went from looking like we were going to win it to looking more like we were going to lose it. That`s how I saw it. It`s all very well for people to call for wingers and width, but if you surrender the centre of midfield, it makes it very difficult to get a positive result. Bennett`s performance was a strange one. He had a couple of unsuccessful runs down the right, then slotted himself into central midfield for the rest of the game. Was he told to go there, or did he just take it upon himself to do it?

Whilst I actually agree with this post, I don’t quite agree with the statement of ‘at the moment’ We weren’t saying they were one dimensional & predictable against Donny, Bradford, Pompey....

Yes you're right Gassy. The midfield were excellent against Bradford and poor yesterday but the width of a pitch can be used to great effect (look at Man C as an example) . So if we use a narrow midfield 4 we need to have width from other players - Bola hardly went over the half way line and Partington -although he does, doesn't look comfortable marauding down the flank. I think we miss Leadbitter a lot and we need to find a place in the team for Bennett to shine ( I agree that Lines' best days are past him and Ollie has been a lot more miss than hit this season. Yesterday, the plain facts were that we didn't pass the ball well and also chose to many long ones.

Given he's the only player who can pass and tackle in CM it must have been hard going for him yesterday, when Sercs & OC had off days and Sincs tired hard looked like he was out of his depth. CM is now our one area of weakness IMHO.

I think we got done by a better team on the day which can happen from time to time in football the worry is why a Club like Shrewsbury are so far ahead of us not only the League position but the infrastructure as well ———serious owners with a plan perhaps??!!

I would like us to try and keep Bola next season I think he is solid replacement for Lee Brown in the starting 11. He would have learnt a lot and be a better player again next season would fit in with the rest of the back 4. No the midfield CMs should be a priority at the end of the season. We need a leader in there too. Lines has been great but is not the future and hopefully next year he could except a part coming off the bench, the same applies for Sinclair - he is sort of player that can come on and help break up opposition play with his energy. We need to find some grit in the middle. Like to see the new wingers out wide and Roy keane style player playing in the middle with sercombe. Of course it all depends if DC intends to stick with this diamond formation, which would be strange if he did, the new wingers will soon be looking for new clubs. I would imagine most agree we need another striker or 2. Harrison could go in the summer and I don't have enough belief in Gaffeney to lead the line every week and score goals. If Harrison is allowed to leave, Gaffeney coming off the bench would be a good option..but I do believe a quick and strong player but like the Shrewsbury No 9 would make a huge difference and give the opposition something to think about .

Didn't enjoy it yesterday. It always seems that ashrewsbury knew a little bit more than us, they were streetwise and played the ref very well. How their Centre Half got away with barging Gaffney to the ground in the penalty area, and in full view of the ref astounded me. He immediately gave the 2 arm wave which indicates no foul while Gaffers was lying prone on the deck and needed treatment.
They bought the free kick that led to their first goal, Lines should know better at his age; leaving a leg out that their player fell over and getting a booking as well. Rank amateur I'm afraid.
I thought the crowd was flat and although just over 9000, was less than I was expecting.
Oh well, onwards and hopefully upwards. Got my tickets for Oxford.

Draw would have been a fair result. Bennet didn't do much for me, as did Mensah.
What's it take for a ref to give a free kick for constantly wrapping your arms around Gaffney these days?
Overall, thought they were a vile team.

However, he hadn't signalled anything so when Gaffney got clearly fouled he sort of waved play on.

Keeper time waisting from the start, number 6 holding into Gaffney all game, falling over every chance, flooring Gaffney in the penalty box, getting a throw in changed to a free kick by surrounding the ref, not getting back over the half way line after scoring, sticking it to Sincs and cutting his head open, you want more?

Sincs wasn't deliberately hurt, as for the other stuff that happens most games, sounds like sour grapes to me. They deserved to win imo.
