Smith 6 did ok Partington 4 hardly stopped a cross, slow and weak,not a fullback to me Craig 6 slotted in well Broadbent 7 won his headers and solid Bola 4.5 indecisive got a bit better second half Lines 6 seen plenty of the ball but his forward passing was poor O. Clarke 4 not at the races today Sercombe 4.5 not much impact on the game Sinclair 7 usual from the beard Gaffney 6.5 worked hard and surprised he came off Harrison 6.5 also worked hard but very little decent service Subs: Bennett 4 looked lost much better to come i hope Mensah 4 same as above Crowd 5 very quiet with little to get us going Ref 3 Shrewsbury 7 well organised and much better all round team today. |

Smith 6. Once again very little to do
Partington 7. Got down the wing well and scored again.
Craig 7. Good debut
Broadbent 7.5. Always looks comfortable on the ball
Bola 6. Not sure how he’s keeping brown out.
Lines 6.5. Kept trying to look for the right pass
O. Clarke 6. Not as effective as usual
Sercombe 6. Same as Ollie
Sinclair 6. And again
Gaffney 6. No change out of their well organised defence.
Harrison 6. Huffed and puffed.
Subs: Bennett 5
Mensah 5
Crowd 6
Ref 6. Not as rubbish as he usually is

DC - got it wrong today - too cautious in his approach - worried about them. and his subbing off of Gaffney ( when it should've been Lines) was a right GAFF !!

Smith 6 - Good distribution but nothing to do but pick the ball out the net
Partington 6.5 - Got beaten a few times
Bola 6 - Very average performance
Craig 7 - Good experience, when settled in should be an asset
Broadbent 8 MOM - Looking a great prospect
Clarke 6 - average at best
Lines 6 - Not one of his better games
Sercombe 6 - Gone off the boil in recent weeks
Sinclair 7 - Decent game and adaptable
Gaffney 6.5 - Tried hard with little effect
Harrison 7 - More consistent this season
Bennett 6.5 - Flashes of quality
Mensah 6 - Looks a bit out of his depth especially having to defend
Nichols NOLE
Ref 4 - Once more water poor
Shrewsbury 8 - Decent robust team
D.C. 5 - Got it wrong today with subs
Crowd 7 - Good in places
Unlucky not to get a point, Shrewsbury are a decent team made up mostly of giants. To our credit we matched them for most the game but could not quite see it through. Bola for me is a weak spot and Sercombe is wasted on the left. Bennett looks a skilful player but not going to chase back and tackle. However, once the new players bed in we will be a better unit, off to Oxford we go UTG

Smith 6 not much to do Partington 6 good that he scored but not a full back Craig 6.5 a tidy game looked a bit ring rusty Broadbent 8 M.o.M a dominant game Bola 6 I prefer Browner Lines 6.5 tidy on the ball, faded badly in last half hour O. Clarke 5.5 wasteful Sercombe 6 largely inconspicuous Sinclair 6.5 usual 100% effort Gaffney 6.5 worked hard but well marshalled by Shrews defence Harrison 7 never gave up, looked our best hope for a goal. Subs: Bennett 5 made no impact Mensah 5 as Bennett Crowd 6 quiet but not much to get excited about. Ref 5 seen worse Shrewsbury 6 an ugly but effective third division team glad I dont have to watch that every week but just about deserved the win. |

Smith 6 Nothing much to do, at last a keeper who can distribute with his hands
Partington 5 Not convinced his position is full back Took his goal well, their keeper was at fault
Craig 6 Compedant debut
Broadbent 7.5 MoM good game overall,
Bola 4.5 Not convinced he is a full back either
Lines 5.5 Reasonable game, good one minute poor the next
O. Clarke 5 Again not at his best, however, missed his bite when he was subbed
Sercombe 4 Not one of his better games
Sinclair 6.5 Usual non stop game
Gaffney 5.5 Worked hard against a disciplined defence

Partington 6 Curate's egg of a performance
Craig 6 won't have liked conceding 2 on debut
Broadbent 7.5 impressed again
Bola 6.5 one cross in the second half deserved a better finish and his flank was generally more secure than Part's side
Sinclair 7 a gritty "in yer face" performance included him getting one in the face!
Lines 6.5 the pitch is reducing his effectiveness but he never gives up trying
Sercombe 6.5 flashes of breaking the shackles but also some untidy play
Clarke 6 battled away, passing awry but closed down and tackled with relish, we missed this when we subbed him.
Gaffney 7 had to battle the pitch as well as a pair of no nonsense centre halves and had to live off of scraps of poor service
Harrison 7 like Gaffney he worked tirelessly against the odds
Bennett 3 poor sod has realised his best performances for us will be away from the Mems pudding pitch this season. Not learnt what his defensive role is...left Parts woefully exposed when he began on the right and wandered aimlessly when switched to the left - will want to forget his debut.
Mensah 3 like Bennett he will be a more effective player away from the Mem, caught cold defensively
Nichols NOLE
DC rolled the dice to try to nick a win but taking off two battlers and replacing them with "luxury" players weakened our ability to nullify the Shrewsbury machine
Crowd 7 tried to get into it but the game wasn't one to sing about
Ref 3 plenty of "rubbish ref" catcalls from the East Stand.
Shrewsbury 7 whilst they cut through our fragile defence at will at their place, they had to grind out the win at ours. Had more in the tank at the end of the game than we did.
