My own opinions from the game. Results to follow shortly.

Smith 6.5 Didn't have too much to do, but looks more composed.

Partington 5.5 Got beaten at the back post and down his wing too easily. Was effective when going forward but felt he could have got forward more.
Craig 5.5 Hard to tell. Went backwards quite a lot especially when having to use his right foot. Led well in the first half.
Broadbent 7 Gets better each game. Untroubled by Shrewsbury and brought the ball out well.
Bola 6 Sort of in and out of the game a lot. Couldn't fault him for much but also can't remember much he did.

Lines 6.5 Put  couple of good challenges in. Tried to get play going
O. Clarke 5 Up for the battle but struggled to create anything
Sercombe 5 Same as Clarke. Also faded out of the game on the left wing.
Sinclair 5.5 Closed down and won the ball back well on occasion but we couldn't use it quickly enough.

For the midfield in general, our problem was that Shrewsbury closed us down quickly and when we got the ball in forward positions it was with our back to goal and Shrewsbury didn't give us space to turn. We weren't able to pick a more creative ball down the channel or over the top to get men in behind. Not that we were awful or anything

Gaffney 5.5 Came deep looking for the ball a couple of times
Harrison 6 Had a hard job winning many balls.

Subs: Bennett 5.5 Wasn't the type of game (nor pitch) for a winger
Mensah 5 Same as Bennett but obviously he has to take some blame for the goal
