Don't read the shitfest that is the EP. What did he say? Basically he had picked up on some of the "fans" criticism of DC as far away as Shrewsbury and here I am paraphrasing, DC has done a great job with limited resources and if we were to lose him any replacement may not be a poor substitute, I thought it was interesting as a third party view.

Heard the interview on Radio Bristol on my way home from the game on Saturday.
My immediate thoughts were that DC has spoken to Hurst about it, and he was/is thinking of quitting.

I can imagine that people are also vocal behind him at games about subs and tactics. If i could speak to DC i would say ignore us fans, we are just passionate and want to see us win every week - which is not realitic. Most of the fans base are well behind him with our support, i wouldn't take a few beered up Gasheads comments to hearts. As you were DC. It is the Board that worries me.

He is doing a good job with the resources he has, i wouldn't take what people say behind a keyboard to heart either.

Can't stand these sort of articles. Be careful what we wish for?
99.999999% of fans wish for DC to get financial backing, a stadium & the training ground we were all promised.
P*ss off Hurst acting like you know what we want/ask for.

Heard the interview on Radio Bristol on my way home from the game on Saturday. My immediate thoughts were that DC has spoken to Hurst about it, and he was/is thinking of quitting. I would have thought the fact he's still 4+ year left on his contract suggests he's unlikely to just quit, but say he did jump ship to manage Leeds, do you think their fans will give him a far easier ride?

www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hurst-on-darrell-clarke-criticism-1163595To be fair, Paul Hurst is absolutely correct. DC is one of the best managers in this division and we are lucky to have him. There are a few negative few about but I think for the most part, everyone backs DC. However par for the course of a football manager is to be questioned on tactics, formations and substitutions from know all fans, most of the time they should be ignored. There are exceptions, like Buckle and McGhee. I just wish DC was given a little bit more money to work his magic.

If he is thinking of quitting (which I hope he isn’t) it will more likely be because he feels betrayed by the owners not the fans!

I would agree, in a job where trust and a strong relationship with your boss is a pre requisite it's hard to carry on when that's gone.

Not sure it the OP actually read the article as all Hurst actually said was ""We get on well, he's done an excellent job. Some of the slight criticism he was getting, I felt from afar at least, I think people have to be very careful what they wish for" said Hurst.
I'd imagine Hurst himself would come in for similar "slight" criticism if Shrewsbury struggle next season like we were before the turn of the year?

I only ever see it on here. i also stand right behind the dugout and i never heard anybody giving DC any grief, the ref though.... I think its more that he gets calls a lot of make a substitution. E.g. "Darrell, bring ____ on!" He even mentioned it post-Bradford when there were calls to put Mensah on earlier, but he stuck to the diamond and got the win. As he walked across on Saturday, he gestured to someone behind the dugout that he had his woolly hat on this week so wouldn't be able to hear them.

Trying to be objective there are some jobs coming up now that DC could look at if he was trying to build a strong CV. eg Oxford and Bradford. He's done wonders for us but it's all been done with one club, and any prospective Championship employer may be cautious; but if he goes and has success with another L1 club then he'll be in demand.
