Thing is I know our true potential, I think between 13-15k in league 1 is not unreasonable to expect with far better facilities enabling families more likely to visit and I think that 15k -16k in the championship with the odd higher crowd with the biggest games ie: prem drop down teams and prem teams in the cup . If we sustained championship football and then better players were attracted then that would continue to climb undoubtedly just as Bcfc82 Ltd have shown for example as much as it hurts me to say. Just to get into the Championship would cost an absolute fortune. Just stay where we are then lol 😂

Yes they all got new stadiums and their support grew substantially over night . It won’t happen for us though so it’s purely hypothetical because we have no new stadium and we aren’t ever likely to have with the current owners at the fore . Hopefully this will change very soon😉 Why do you keep hinting at a change of owners? Because it won’t happen with our current owners

I think that the only way we could guarantee filling a 20,000 capacity stadium is by doing bloody well on the pitch. Why do I think this?
Simple. We have only averaged 20,000+ 6 times in our history, and those 6 years were consecutive, as detailed below:
1952/53 3rd tier Champions 1953/54 2nd tier 9th 1954/55 2nd tier 9th 1955/56 2nd tier 6th 1956/57 2nd tier 9th 1957/58 2nd tier 10th
We had a team of giants at the time, by far the best team We've ever had.
When we got promoted to the second tier in the 70s we averaged 13,000 but then our crowds quickly dropped to around 8K when we weren't doing very well in the Championship. We would average more now, but maybe not by much.
I think a tightly packed stadium of about 18,000 would be ideal for us, looking at historical records. Maybe with the option to extend if we ever got to the Prem. But we knew all that anyway......

Just stay where we are then lol 😂 Why is that funny? Because you’d be happy to stagnate in our ramshackle stadium in the lower echelons of league football as long we had nice pasty’s and that’s because you’re resigned to it , it’s a trait I think with our fans nowadays that we’ve had to put up with so much cr@p , broken dreams and utter bullsh1t that we’re brainwashed thus we just go along with it nowadays , hence my sarcasm.

I agree with you on most of what you say but I do think that football in general has more appeal than it did back then . Better stadiums , more money (not us), hooligans a relatively thing of the past

You have different immediate unachievable ambitions to the rest of us. And that makes you a very bitter anti board person and always will be until you realise that our owners, staff and everyone else involved with BRFC are working hard to turn things around. Shame you can't see this.

I agree with you on most of what you say but I do think that football in general has more appeal than it did back then . Better stadiums , more money (not us), hooligans a relatively thing of the past Spot on. Times change & the hooligan element certainly did football no favours in the 70's & 80's. Football was in the doldrums & we nearly went out of business in the 80's due to the off field situation. Luckily enough the Dunfords kept us going along with some inspiration on the field. But whilst Football as a business has enjoyed a resurgence off the field, as a club, we have, for various reasons stayed in the past - ok we are better off than some, who haven't survived. I have confidence that DC under the current restraints can keep us in this division, even challenge the play offs next season, but can he make us fit for the championship with the lack of infrastructure off the field? Well, he could as the owners have invested in a development squad, and there could be one or two gems unearthed there - but as things stand at present, the likelihood is they would get sold to pay off debts. As things tend to go in cycles it's probable the Football bubble will burst again. Unless we get the infrastructure soon we could be in the same position as we were in the 80's with no way of generating off field finance, what happens then? Wael, had to convince the family initially to get on board with us, but since August, I think he's had another fight to keep them on side. Some positive news on the Stadium & Training ground is needed soon or DC might be tempted by the next offer he gets.

Where are they ever week? I would suggest a lot of those people are floating fans who also went to watch City at Wembley. I brought a few mates to our last Wembley trip, but they wouldn't come every week. I think part of the point I am trying to make. In a modern stadium that is under shelter more people would come and watch. At the moment, on a match day you can pay to stand behind the goals, be sheltered and have restricted view or stand on the side and get soaked.. More people would come if the facilty was better. And I agree with you, but I would be cautious of expecting 30k to turn up because thats how many went to Wembely.
