Smith 8 Unlucky on both goals and was probably the only reason we were still in the game when the changes were made.
Sinclair 7 Bit of a non factor until the changes but the minute he went into the heart of the midfield you could see him organising the players around him.
Partington 7 The diamond leaves us a bit open on the wings and it's often Partington that takes the brunt of the attacks as a result. Is learning to stay on his feet which helps.
Craig 6 Solid other than a couple of slips.
Broadbent 5 Will always have the fans on side with his runs out of the box and big tackles but got given the run around a lot of the time last night. He'll bounce back on Saturday
Brown 4 Plays too narrow as a full back for him to be effective when we play in the diamond and it showed last night with Rochdale taking turns at tearing us apart down the left
Lines 7 Oddest game I've seen from him in a while. In the first half he was winning tackles but unable to pass. Second half saw what we'll call classic lines with deep runs and thunderbolt shots flying in.
O. Clarke 5 You shouldn't look more organised as a team when your captain goes off. Struggled to make much of an impact
Sercombe 7 At half time, a few around me said they'd take Sercombe off as he was a non factor, I said I'd keep him on as he's on of the few that could produce. He got a goal and left the ball for Lines for the winner. Almost played as a lone striker towards the end when everyone else's legs had given out.
Nichols 6 Hard for him to do much when the balls are played 2ft above his head or 20 ft in front of him. Think he needs balls threaded through the defence and we struggle to play said passes.
Gaffney 9 Marked by two players in the first half and gave the pair of them a good fight considering he was lacking any real support. A lot of our attacks started looking more threatening when he started dropping into the midfield and linking up with them allowing the midfield to push on.
Subs: Bola 6 Didn't really have to do much once he came on as we were largely on the attack. Didn't seem like we were threatened as much down the left once he came on though.
Bennett 6.5 A few nice passes but the pitch doesn't aid itself to his style of play but once he came on with Moore we seemed like more of an attacking threat.
Moore 8 BYRON MOORE MOORE MOORE
Crowd 6 Not a lot to cheer about for 60 minutes but once the team started to wake up the fans soon followed. Amazed that we had 9000 on a Tuesday night.
Ref 2 I normally defend officials but they were some of the worst we've seen at the mem for years. Was equally poor for both teams.
Rochdale 6 A team lacking confidence and any cutting threat up front with the exception of Henderson. A lot of sloppy passes killed their own attacks when they had us running around like headless chickens.
