Anybody going to watch this one, either live or on t.v.? Thoughts on the outcome? I`m hoping to find a pub on Glos Rd, that`s showing it. Most of the money on the street is going on Eubank, but it`s a tough one to call. A lot of people think that Groves will be too big and strong, ( he`s definitely more of a natural super middleweight ), but I think that Eubanks superior work rate and fitness will eventually tell, and the fight will be stopped late on in his favour. I hope so. To me, Groves is yesterday`s man.

Groves is levels above Eubank Jnr and is better in every single aspect of the noble art than Eubank who to date has been well and truly protected while living off his Dads name.Eubank Jnr has the worst footwork I have seen in a pro boxer he is sh** at judging distance and just lunges in.He carries very average power and for those who think he is really young he is infact just a few months younger than Groves.
The casuals have all brought into the Eubank hype machine which means at the bookies the real fans of the sport will cash in.

I`ve been a boxing nut, since my dad took me to see Tom Imrie win a gold medal for Scotland at the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. Eubank was "well and truly protected" against B J Saunders? Really? As for cashing in, I wouldn`t touch this fight, but as you are so certain, care to let us know how much you`ve invested in Groves at 6/4?

BJS isn't a big puncher and he took the fight at short notice which was perfect for the Eubanks as they thought they could beat him.We all know how that turned out and Saunders was at about 70% for that fight.Since then Eubank has been kept away from skillful guys and has been in with low level plodders who stand in front of him.As I said Groves is in a different league with a far superior skill set.George hits harder judges distance superbly and has a great jab cannot see a single scenario in how Eubank can win this fight as he is so limited.

I`m not going to argue. Reading your post, is like listening to my wife going off on one. There`s never any doubt in her mind either. Going to watch the fight in the Anchor on Glos Rd. I can`t see it being anything other than compelling viewing, and I hope both men emerge with their senses intact at the end of it. And I look forward to seeing Eubank take on Callum Smith in the final.

You were right and I was wrong. Haven`t seen the fight; was in bed at 9pm with a stinking cold. Sounds like Groves dominated, but Eubank was still in there punching until the end.

George Groves is a class above Eubank. It was technical boxing and ring craftmanship against Brawler. It was a walk in the park for Groves, he didn't have to get out of 2nd Gear. Groves is simply a class above.
Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders, James Degale, Badou Jack are all far superior to Eubank too.I cant believe all the hype, coverage and limelight Eubank Jnr gets when you consider the likes of Smith and Saunders get very little. Its all because of his old man.

I very rarely visit this section of the forum, I did this morning and saw there was a thread on it and commented. That's how forums work. I always backed Groves simply because he has proved over many fights that he is the far superior technical boxer. I don't agree with Naseem that Eubank jnr should retire, I actually believe their is a decent boxer in Eubank jnr, but he needs to stop being brainwashed by his old man and stop believing in the hyperbole that Eubank snr keeps spouting, in fact he needs to get rid if his old man full stop. He needs to get a decent trainer to help him and he needs to get a decent corner man, actually get a whole new team full stop. He's not good enough for the likes of Groves, Callum Smith or Degale in the Super Middles at the moment. And at his natural weight, he isn't as good as Billy Joe Saunders, and not in the same stratosphere as GGG and Canelo. He needs to get rid of his old man and go back to drawing board with a new team and hopefully improve. He doesn't deserve the coverage and hype he gets. Just for you, when Callum Smith beats Brahmer, which he should do comfortably, and Groves shoulder injury doesn't rule him out, I predict a Callum Smith win. Is that alright with you?
