Very good interview. Wael comes across as a really nice chap. Pleased he closed out any further need to discuss the UWE project "it is not in the best interest of Bristol Rover" end-of. Going forward it is still "evolution" which means talks ongoing in the back ground, stop asking for info., the club will let you know whats happening some time in the future. He did not mention anything particularly about the refurbishment of the MEM, so I guess this summer will be all about switching the location of club shop with the East Stand bar, a new toilet block and sorting out the pitch. Got the impression he was not currently particularly happy with the inconsistent form of the first team, but all in all he will be around for the foreseeable. Utg And after all the complaints about not hearing from him on a daily, weekly basis, wasn't a good interview like that well worth the wait? Yep. I am feeling really happy, and will not expect to hear from Waq, Hani and or Steve for another 12 months, O hang on. hmm. Now looking forward to Scunny, 3 points Saturday, e.i.e.i.e.i.o. up. ...

Without being disrespectful, i dont really like the fake tag. I do agree that Wael and family are looking to offload the club. In the space of 2 years, we have gone from absolutely needing a ground, 18 months on our only option being walked away from, 6 months forward to today, 24 months in, there is no concrete plan b. There have been other appointments in the back ground and small changes. But i dont think the family realized how much money they would need to invest and dont really intend on investing more than what they have to. So when he said there were plans and that they were working on a new ground you didn't believe him? Despite no evidence to suggest he is lying. And DC on a 5 year contract. And DC getting the players he wanted in the window? And the training ground land having been purchased? And all the new backroom staff? And the development squad? But assuming DC's not lying they had to fall within the bottom 6 budget given to him by our owners?

I do find it cringeworthy embarrassing that people feel that's it ok to bad mouth the president on social media. Not sure they would be happy if he started doing it back to them.

He didn’t give away a lot .... he never does... but I was pleasantly reassured and I think he genuinely has the clubs best interests at heart and will move us forward . Not as quickly as I’d like though but I’m an impatient bugger !

So good planning by DC to get players lined up within his budget? It doesn't mean he didn't want better quality if he could afford it. As far as this interview Wael doesn't actually say anything of note does he? It's about time he let 20men ask him some searching questions instead of just being interviewed by one of his club's employees.

Stage managed questions by Keith Brookman who just so happens to be employed by him , yes the interview sounded positive from Wael but it solved no purpose and we are basically no further ahead knowledge wise as we were immediately before the interview.

Good interview and we now know a bit more. Just! Very clear that he’s not going to conduct club business (ground, training facility) in public and that there’s lots going on in the background. He’s comfortable with the evolution stuff and he’s not going to be pressurised into doing anything quicker than the club can sustainably do. That he acknowledges that some fans want him to do it quicker than they are currently doing seems to me to show he has plans but he will keep them very closely guarded and we will only hear when there is something concrete to announce. For someone like me who wanted some kind of idea or vision about the future and feel they have been a bit tardy in talking to us I am happy now to have heard what their ideas are. I take it that the training facility will slowly develop over the next two years and might be ready for Summer 2019. The ground itself will take longer to get any firm plans but with all the stuff taking place in the background I would expect to hear some firmer ideas towards the end of this year. I take from this that in the Summer transfer window we will strengthen with a few signings to fit the evolution not revolution mantra. These are just my conclusions drawn from what he said. Others may have concluded something different. 😉 UTG!

You're clearly the brains behind the operation why don't you ask him some questions and then you'll know for certain his answers aren't "staged managed". He's frequently at away games and if you can't make those I often see him behind the West Enc about 30 mins before kick off. So come on then. Let's have The Topper Report.

Let's be fair, we want to hear about stadium regeneration progress- when can we expect plans etc? I would like an interview with GT where fans can put some unscripted questions forward (although to be fair Keith does tend to ask some pressing questions). Categorically stating that UWE was a bad deal for Rovers is a bit more re-assuring. That is quite a statement to make if it was actually a good deal for us but a bad one for DS. Although IIRC a reason given by Wael at the time of the collapse was that UWE was bad because it was an out of town stadium (which seemed a bizarre thing to say) so maybe he is referring to location when he says it wasn't a good deal for Rovers which I don't think many would agree with. Ah well, it is what it is I guess. As usual for a Rovers fan we can only wait and hope the board pulls a rabbit out of a hat with regards to a stadium.

imo it was a good honest interview in which he states several times he has no regrets in buying the club. That's good enough for me to believe he will deliver in time. What I didn't like was that fans gave him grief over the apparent lack of signings on transfer deadline day. Why do that
