I managed to get there and felt both the total attendance and the gas numbers given were higher than it looked like in reality Agree there is no way over 8K attended the game. To us it looked more like 4-5K at best They obviously just counted their season ticket holders and our tickets sold and added that to the pay on the day attendees.

So, here's a thing from the MK forum. Not sure it's much use, but the lines seem to signify chances on goal over time. It looks like, from this, MK started well, but we got into it and were well on top when we scored, but then didn't get much else for the rest of the game while we defended our lead. Not sure it's much use (istm our three best chances were all gold, and their eight best chances were all half-arsed), but kind of interesting.

They look like a flight of stairs in Wetherspoons, when you`ve had 7 or 8 pints of Thatchers Gold.

Was a bit surprised to read on their forum that they had the fourth highest budget at the start of the season.

The crowd was pathetic. Wonder if they will retrospectively alter it for the records once all those that couldn't go have handed back their tickets and got refunds.

You and the tribe have a good day though fella? Sure did. No issues with the roads, managed to get in and out of their car park without incident, and saw the Gas win away from home. Tell you what tho, that bloody cold wind didn't half make my tail shrivel up.

I thought it was a decent ground but difficult to get a proper feel for anything with so few fans attending. The atmosphere outside of the away end was virtually non existent. Just a few home fans behind their goal waving their arms around and making no audible noise. It would have been better if they had mustered them all into one section of the ground. And it's sunk below street level which is what the UWE was intending.

Good forward planning to build that 2nd tier even if they're not filling half of the lower level. Good facilities, good view, something like that would suit us.

Scooby. I agree with your view here. They have a nice ground but no one in it. Very quiet. My mate who lives in MK says there is no football club fan base to speak off. The kids all seem to be happier going down to London for one of the prem sides. But as a ground I liked it - although did you try and get any refreshments at half time? What a joke that was.

I got something before the game started. At half time Scrappydoo wanted a snickers. With 5 mins to the start of the 2nd half the queues were horrendous and showing no signs of moving so when I heard the team come out I went back to my seat. Got him a snickers on the way out after the game, no problem. Guess they didn't want to open up the other two food outlets. Maybe they had been told not to expect many of us as we were all snowed in around Bristol. What struck me tho was the number of people who stayed in the queue at half time. What's that all about? I paid £22 a ticket to watch football, not queue up at a pie stand. One bloke sitting a couple of rows in front of me walked past with a hot dog and that was 13 minutes into the 2nd half so he must have missed Harrison's goal. I mean, how desperate have you got to be for an overpriced hot dog? Wasn't you, was it?

No scooby it wasn’t me. Like you I went without a half time snack. I queued for the whole time and gave up when the second half started. One of the stewards said it’s always like that. I’d have been really peed off if I’d gone that far, spent all that cash and missed the only goal.

Wasn't MK founded as a "New Town" in the years following the end of WW2? Somewhere for City folk who had lost their homes to The Blitz or as a result of mass slum clearance in the big cities. That would mean that only a couple of generations would consider the place to be their home, with allegiances to other towns and cities, especially London, lingering on. I would think that generations of family loyalty to established football clubs will be a big factor in what side a young MK resident decides to support, and, if the franchise survive as a professional EFL club (and I hope they don't) it will take several generations before they establish a true fan base in the area. Heres hoping they go down, slip out of the EFL all together and end up where they belong in the lower leagues. If they then manage to get back to the league in years to come they will have earned the right. Unfortunately, with the money already spent and with the stadium, I think that Winkleman bloke will spend whatever it takes to keep them in the league.

Or is that Northampton? Or am I thinking of roundabouts? Who cares?

They've got a higher average gate than us. I didn’t know that. But the ground felt really empty on Saturday. Stadium holds roughly 3 times ours but only ever fills for rugby matches and if MK draw a big cup game from what I gather. The atmosphere was virtually non-existent.
