Slocombe 7.5 At last a keeper who comes for crosses also made 1 really good save in 2nd half
Partington 7.0 Usual game with odd mistake but generally ok as offers extra going forward Lockyer 7.5 Steady game again as he continues to get back to his old form. Craig 7.0 Solid game who was there to mop up loose balls Brown 7.0 Normal performance for Browner
Lines 7.0 Usual perfornabce we expect including 1 really good tackle! Sercombe 7.5 Played more central which is his best position and foiled by 2 good saves from their keeper Russe 7.0 Really good debut who transferred his academy performances to first team level
Moore 6.0 Not much to say and still waiting for him to take on his marker rather than checking back all the time Harrison 7.5 Ran tirelessly on his own up front with no support. Well taken cross for winner Bennett 6.5 Showed glimses of what he can do on a decent pitch
Subs Gaffney 7.0 Ran tirelessly and held up ball well to run down clock at end Sweeney 6.5 Did job he was sent on for Clarke J As above
Ref 6.5 Crowd 10 for making the effort to get there to support the boys MK 5.5
Apart from a shaky start and a spell when we sat back after taking the lead this was a thoroughly deserved win which could have been more if we had taken the best options available in the 2nd half.Well done to all that made it and for the gesture made to refund tickets for those that could not travel. As it happened journey up and back was ok although there were 26 who coukdn't make it on the 2 supporters club coaches. That's 2 in a row at MK where we have not lost and yesterday was our first win there.

Sam Slocombe.8...Confident ,assured and made a great save early second half that was goal bound. Added confidence to a solid defence. Joe Partington.8...Played well, confident on the ball.Motors well for a big fella and is consistent. Tom Lockyer.8...Commanding performance.Confident. Tony Craig.8...Adds maturity and calmness at the back, strong and solid. Lee Brown.7.5...Tidy,good link up play.
Chris Lines.7.5...Assured and steady.Needs to make more of those charging runs out of his own half. He made a few of them and MK fell apart. Luke Russe.8...First game ! Played like a man with 10 games under his belt. Quick and confident on the ball.Great prospect. Liam Sercombe.8.5...Always grafting, always puts in a shift. Chased anything, everything.Goalbound shot well saved.Good acceleration, agile.
Byron Moore.7.5...Needs more game time, comfortable on the ball and can motor with it. Subbed ? Ellis Harrison.8...Sublime Wembley Richard Walker esque goal.Constantly mauled when on or near the ball. Kyle Bennett.8...Confident with the ball. Agile.Darting runs, good acceleration.Top prospect.Subbed ?
Subs: Rory Gaffney.6.5...Never had enough time to feature.Explosive pace when gets the chance to use it. Jeff Clarke.6.5...Solid Ryan Sweeney.6.5...Solid
Crowd. 2/10 for turning up.MK was a library, end of. 10/10,Glorious Gasheads were just that. DC and the team clapping us at the end.Our Heroes !! Ref.6. Not too bad, should have stamped his authority earlier in the game. MK Dons.6...Toiled without much reward.Goalie kept them alive much of the game.

Slocombe 7.5 Surprise inclusion but Made one fantastic save in particular and came out well for a couple of crosses.
Partington 7 Sold showing both defensively and forward
Lockyer 7 Did well with little threat
Craig 7 Did well with little thread
Brown 7 Decent performance
Lines 8 MOTM Couple of great pieces of play which can win matches. Set up the goal. Russe 7 Great debut for the youngster. Didn't look out of place. Sercombe 8 Threatening and unlucky with 2 shots on goal well saved.
Moore 7 Did well just wish he would try and beat a man occasionally. Maybe a confidence thing Bennett 7.5 Threatening come forward and retained the ball well.
Ellis 8 A handful once again despite being lucky with the goal but you partly make your own luck.
Subs Gaffney 7 Worked hard as usual J Clarke 6.5 Steady Sweeney NOLE
Ref 8 One of the better ones Fans 10 Class support non stop singing and could have forgiven fans for giving this a miss. MK 4 very poor.
Overall Summary Great team performance. Nobody had a bad game and for 50 minutes of the match we totally and utterly dominated. As soon as the goal went in we seemed to sit back more and invite pressure and it looked at one point as though they might score. Having found the lineup a bit odd I think DC actually got it spot on. For once it was more the subs I wasn't sure about. I felt like we won the game in spite of them rather than because. I'm not sure what formation we ended up with! Either way it was a great day out and performance overall against a poor MK Dons side. We played some really nice stuff on the floor for a change (I guess the pitch helped!). However I can't help but feel a better side would have punished them more.
Anyway onwards and upwards to our game next week at home to Northampton! UTG!

Sam Slocombe.8...I thought he did well, still worries me a bit that he wanders out of his area a lot. Joe Partington.8...I thiught he was great some lovely moves, though in common with some others, gave tha ball away too cheaply from time to time. Tom Lockyer.8...Did some wonderful things, almost gave him an extra half! Tony Craig.7.5....Im pleased we have him, much better than he was at Wimbledon which I think was his only poor performance to date Lee Brown.7.5...Normal Browner, some great crosses. Chris Lines.7.5...Gave the ball away a bit, but some outstanding moments, & one truly great tackle / interception. Luke Russe.7.5...Great First game, would have scored him higher but i think he was bullied off the ball a couple of times Liam Sercombe.8.5...Truly Class, easily MOTM, rand everywhere, great skills, what a player Byron Moore.7.5...Thought he did very well without being outstanding Ellis Harrison.8...Wonderful Goal, I thought he meant it at the time, not so convinced now but still a great goal. This years most improved player Kyle Bennett.7.5...Shows some great skills, great pace as well, but seems to wait for just a moment before moving which he needs to improve on, he gives the opposition a head start, comes acoss as over confident maybe?
Subs: Rory Gaffney.7...Not much to do but did what he did well James Clarke.7...Good to see him back Ryan Sweeney. Not on long enough for me to rate him really
Crowd. MK - 2/10 where were they?. Gas 9/10 would have been 10 but for the racist behind me debating how many bananas theyd given their number 10 when young (He also didnt like Linesy for different reasons!) Ref.6. I think he was OK but one of the Lino's was shocking MK Dons.6... They had their moments, but were cheats and fortunately couldnt finish DC 8.5 - How many different formations did he play? Im not sure, but we got the win, UTG

Results in and Liam Sercombe was Man of the Match with a score of 8 exactly.
This was Sercombe's 4th MotM in all competitions this season. Only Harrison has more (although he is way ahead on 12).
Luke Russe (7.40) had the third highest scoring debut in these threads behind Gaffney (8.0) and Sweeney (7.7). He just edged out Boateng (7.396) while both Della Verde (7.5) and Dawson (7.9) did score higher in their first starts after lower scoring sub appearances.
Slocombe's 7.8 was the highest goalkeeper rating in the league this season. For some context, Lumley scored higher than 7.8 in five of his 19 games last season.
All players scored at least a 6.7 in this game only the second time this has ever happened. The only other times this has happened were against Dagenham and Redbridge when all players scored above a 7.3 at at Northampton this season when all players scored at least 7.1.
This also resulted in the range of scores being the smallest ever. The difference between the top and bottom players was just 1.3 beating the 1.4 that separated the players in the Plymouth home game earlier this season.
The starting XI average was 7.53, the third highest of the season behind Northampton away (8.13) and Southend home (7.87).
Slocombe 7.8
Partington 7.4 Lockyer 7.8 Craig 7.5 Brown 7.2
Lines 7.5 Russe 7.4 Sercombe 8.0
Moore 7.0 Harrison 7.9 Bennett 7.3
Subs: Gaffney 6.9 J. Clarke 6.7 Sweeney 6.7
Crowd 8.3 Ref 6.5 MK Dons 5.4
