My fish do not eat each other. You have to do some research and find out what can co-exist with what. An aquarium is not just for xmas. Sometimes the research doesn`t always bear fruit. Many years ago, I put a Kribensis into my tank. The guy who ran the shop who sold me the fish, ( Mapson`s on Stapleton Road ) assured me that the Kribensis was a peaceful, community fish. Well, this fuc*er wasn't. It was the Charles Manson of the piscine world. It attacked everything, including fish twice it`s size. No way would I ever recommend keeping one of them. Never listen to the guys at the LFS (Local Fish Shop). They'll normally flog you anything! It is a bit more tricky with saltwater fish. Not only that but different fish do have different personalities. Most fish I add are no problem, but I have added fish in the past that were beaten up and dead within 24hrs! Any way, I got home last night to find that I am the proud father of thousands of baby Brine Shrimp! I couldn't take a video because I was kidnapped on my way home from work and forced to drink more beer than was healthy for me. I shall take a video tonight when I get home.

Here is the latest Full Tank video. Corals are really growing well recently after I changed the lighting schedule. The Clown fish and the Mandarin fish are spawning, which is an indication that everything is hunky dory in the tank.

I used to keep tropical freshwater fish and tried marine but found it too difficult and very expensive.

I never know if She Who Casts No Shadow will ever discover this forum! No fish cost more than 15 quid, and no coral costs more than 10 quid. Those are the rules for a Saltwater Aquarium

Those are the rules for a Saltwater Aquarium Seriously though, I only ever buy Frags. Buying colonies is too expensive, so I have to start them small and wait for them to grow. I think it's a large part of the satisfaction and enjoyment of reefkeeping. Some corals are slow growing, whereas others can really get large quite quickly ! The same with the fish. I only buy them as babies and not fully grown fish. This makes it a lot more cheaper. The real expense is with the equipment.
