Yeah it seems to be a decent short term fix but not a good long term one, as we proved. It’s like shoving a cork up your arse when youve got the squits, okay for a bit but eventually the shits gona hit the fan/pan big time! Not at lunch time Marshy please !!

Disagree with this - normally new managers give a club a boost with the whole 'new manager effect' How many times did we get one in L2 when we were fighting relegation at Christmas but finished midtable by end of the season? I don’t think that Barnet fans would agree with this? But it’s their own fault for employing a complete buffoon! And a proven buffoon at that. He started well for as tbf - not sure what happened in summer because boy oh boy did he lose it. But then, so did every manager for us back then!

Yeah and we saved up years of the squits and it came shooting out all over the Mem v Mansfield.

According to Wikipedia only 9 League One managers have been in the role for more than 365 days.
And there have been 13 managerial changes during the current season.
So we are probably fortunate to still have Darrell in charge and the owners obviously trust him even when we go through various sticky patches.

As others have said all about expectation. The owners/board can't really expect promotion given the budget even if they wanted it. Most supporters realise that DC is exceeding expectations, but we are not quite good enough yet. My worry is that DC may have expectations that cannot be achieved at this club.

That’s what we all worry about. Well apart from midland and tbone I think.

Yes, ****est day ever and tbh it didnt get any better. There was a World Cup that year but I couldn’t watch any football. Blimey I even had to listen to classicfm because I didn’t want to hear any sports news on 5live! Blimey, the website that summer was full of stories about bl**** car boot sales! Looking forward to the World Cup this year. UTG!

Sacking managers doesn't seem to be helping Scunthorpe, now only six points ahead of us but played a game more and are in crap form (havent won in 9) a win for Plymouth and an away win for the gas on Monday puts us in touching distance. Peterborough have a difficult run and also in poor form a very late draw today.
I think we can get 15 points from a possible 21 but Charlton and Portsmoth will nudge ahead of us
Prediction for final positions
PLD PTS
1 Wigan 46 103 2 Blackburn 46 97 3 Shrewsbury 46 95 4 Plymouth 46 77 5 Rotherham 46 74 6 Charlton 46 71 7 Portsmouth 46 69 8 Bristol Rovers 46 69 9 Scunthorpe 46 68 10 Peterborough 46 67

Posh simply left it too late to appoint Evans. We need to at least match Charlton's result on Monday then beat them next Saturday to make things interesting.

Charlton, Wigan, Blackburn. I hope I am wrong but 3 very difficult games. I remember the home game against Charlton last year. Not good

Yes, they are against tough opponents but we have a cracking home record over the last few years so with a packed stadium getting behind us and the feeling that we don’t really have much to lose, it could be that we get a head of steam going. Let’s hope we can beat Fleetwood tomorrow!

We can beat anyone at home so we might as well beat arguably the biggest 3.

Cheers Bertram, christ what a sobering thought looking at that! Not that long ago we were on a level playing field with those donkeys. (Assess ourselves mind you!). So bring on Charlton, Wigan and Blackbum. Woohoooo! UTG.
