As dc has said at least twice in interviews he would become a sitting duck if he stays at rovers. He said fans will lose patience at stagnation in league one and he will simply become a paul trollope mark 2. The evolution is a process which is seemingly happening especially with the startling progress of the development squad but it looks extremely unlikely we will be promotion candidates next season imo. For his legacy at our club and for his own ambition he really needs to move onto a more immediately ambitious club right now. Maybe hes missed the boat though? i mean people like paul hurst, derek adams and danny cowley have probably overtaken him which might mean hes stuck at rovers. Take a leaf from the moody blues song book and "go now" if youve any sense dc.

He said in his Bury preview interview that he is extremely motivated by getting us into the championship. He said it's what keeps him awake at night.
I believe he's going to do that, and we're not that far away from acheiving a play-off spot.
If he did get us up his stock would sky-rocket and I believe we will then lose him.
So, let's enjoy it while he's here and hope he acheives his championship ambitions for us.

Goes with the job. Any manager can go from hero to zero within the space of a few matches, such is the fickleness of the game

He is safe as long as we stick by him and support him and his team when we go through a bad patch. The handful calling for his head earlier this season are what's wrong, not football.

Nothing like PT the way he manages and I liked PT. We are progressing slowly but surely, in line with the money available I suspect. Of course there are managers who are doing well but such is football that by October DC could have overtaken them. Where’s he going to go? He’s happy here, we’re happy, what’s the problem? Ive like a few of your recent posts but this one....!! UTG!

In the words of Paul Hurst speaking about DC's tenure at Rovers `Careful what you wish for'.

By stagnate i mean were nowhere near championship contenders on or off the pitch despite our slim play-off hopes imo.

I've mentioned on previous posts that this club is not far away from being a decent side but DC does need help from the board. Next season is a big one for DC and the Gas

Quiet happy that DC will became the "Arsene Wenger" of Bristol Rovers........... I’m up for that. A couple of Prem titles, a smattering of FA Cups, a bit of Champions League and then slumming it in the Europa. Mind you it sounds a bit expensive. Also, will DC have to start talking in a pseudo French accent?

In the words of Paul Hurst speaking about DC's tenure at Rovers `Careful what you wish for'. I think Hurst misread the situation, yes there might of been a couple of moaners behind his dugouts in the east terrace after we lost to Shrewsbury but the 99% majority of gasheads supported him them and support him now. DC didn't need any support from Hurst over his job.

I think DC is old and wise enough to make his own decisions, he has a good contract, he is given considerable freedom, and knows that run of results before Christmas would have resulted in the sack at many if not most clubs. Leave DC alone and stop encouraging and wishing for his immediate departure.

As long as the football is entertaining then people will turn up to watch.
The problem wasn't Trollope stagnating, it was the fact the football was dire and we were heading for relegation.
