....or perhaps the Managem3nt don’t want to sell too many STs where the average price per game is almost half the walk up price. If the club can tie supporters down to a season ticket, they will make more money than if left the supportesr to POTD as there is no guarantee that they would all go to all the games, that's kind of why they sell season tickets.

I had a nice letter from DC arrive in the post today, he had noticed I'd not renewed my season ticket and wanted to make sure I didn't miss the deadline which is next Wednesday. I normally renew quite early but this year because of pending house move expenses I wanted to wait until the last minute. Looks as though this won't be possible because the third party producing the new electronic style cards will take six weeks to get them produced and sent out, hence the 20th June close off. Unless I'm mistaken it appears anyone wanting to buy a season ticket from next Thursday onwards will be turned away. Seems mad if this is the case. Is anyone else not renewing? I will revert back to paying on the day and as I'm getting a bit disillusioned with the lack of news on long term ground plans my attendances will probably start to reduce. I got the same letter even though I renewed in April! Seems like a fair few had the same issues as when I called the shop and mentioned the letter she knew exactly what I was going to say.

Exactly the same here. Got the letter yesterday, but already renewed in April. What did the shop say? Did they have a record of your ticket purchase?

I bet we get within a week or so of the season starting and the new style season tickets haven't arrived. There will be a massive panic and the club will say "we're working with the third party provider to get this matter resolved" and then ST holders will be asked to attend the matchday ticket office to get paper tickets due to the unresolved issue of the delay in the new cards being made!!

It's a fair point though and eric will not be the only one. A colleague at work supports another 'local side' and he didn't have this long wait for a card to be produced. No idea why there is a need to bully supporters in to a Mid June deadline, if I was cynical I'd think it was a ploy to get the money in early! A bit of coded plastic shouldn't take long to make should it? Banks manage it fairly quickly when you need a replacement card. Two points, you just compared a BANK to a football club. Banks run on process and operations, football club don't, especially ones in the third tier. Secondly, sending cards out on an ad-hoc basis (as what happens when a bank sends you a replacement card) is a different beast to sending out thousands of cards in one go. If, next year, they still have this early cut off then there is no excuse (as they will just need to process new season tickets, as existing card holders can load new tickets on) however right now, I think, regarding this, supporters need to give the club a bit of slack. Especially bearing in mind all the positive stuff happening this summer. I don't think I have to mention this but I will as I'm sure there will be people out to attack but of course the positive stuff happening this summer doesn't replace training ground or new stadium news however it's still positive.

Amazing, people used to moan about no communication from the club, & are now moaning about too much.

I still don't understand why it should take months for a card to be produced and delivered. It may not be a bank but it is a third party company who are presumably specialists in this business? I could order a German kit house and have it delivered and erected in less time!! The above doesn't explain why other clubs haven't had to have such early deadlines and delays when introducing this system. Similarly, why is it always us who don't have replica kits in stock until autumn when most other clubs manage to have them in their stores as soon as the previous season ends?

If you can find a club that introduced electronic ticketing and had the cut off later than what Rovers have given us, go ahead. Please, I really would want to know. Who has new kit in stores now? In our league of course, even City haven't yet.

I spoke with a work colleague who is a season ticket holder at City and when they changed system he didn't have to wait six or so weeks for a card to be delivered. Regarding replica shirts I'm going by previous threads on here where we've had summer open days with no kit available and that stretching well into the season. I'm not going to spend hours of my weekend trawling through other clubs websites to try and win arguments on a football forum. If you want to feel free.
