Indeed. RIP Roy. I happened to meet him a couple of times and what a lovely man he was. Wasn't aware he played for Rovers though? Any idea when that was? I know he played for City either side of the 2nd World War which he was also in the Royal Navy during.

According to the Official Chelsea website "he was signed onto the groundstaff by local club Bristol Rovers as a 14-year-old, before quickly switching to neighbours Bristol City a year later due to financial problems at Rovers." RIP Roy.
