Steady on LPG. According to Knowall, it’s a great signing because DC sees something in him. I guess his 1 goal in 30 odd league appearances shows huge potential in some people’s eyes. Did Knowall say he was a "great" signing? He is a great signing

Craig is utter rubbish and in no way has strengthened the squad playing wise. He has cost us at least 5 goals through individual errors or all round poor play. Really? Not having a pop or anything, but whilst he's no Tillson or Yates, I honestly think he's one of the best centre backs since Steve Elliott, and as I recall singing, he was quite brilliant. All about opinions of course, but fascinating how he has produced such polarised opinions amongst our fanbase.

Big season for Lockyer and Broadbent next season , coming in to their better years, locks in particular has to cut out the mistakes because they’re happening too often. Broadbent more likely to improve I think but has Lockyer got better these last couple of years ? I’m not convinced he has.

Sadly today's result means we can no longer beat, or even equal, last season's points total.

He never filled me confidence either.

I do agree though that it's an important call DC has to make as to what is his first choice pairing at the back. I like Lockyer and Craig, however do feel that Broadbent has some class and must be allowed to develop. Glad I'm not making that decision! Next problem is fitting Lines and Sercombe into the same side without shoving Sercs out wide. Then a 20-goal striker and we're sorted!

Just seen the highlights. Why was Craig being blamed for the first goal? Because hes playing instead of broadbent and 3 or 4 posters blame him for every goal we concede regardless of reality. Good idea would be to loan broadbent to barnet next season under martin allen to get him out of the habit of thinking hes franz beckenbauer then when he comes back to rovers he might get a game.

Er... ok then. Let’s loan out our best defender to a non league side.

Just seen the highlights. Why was Craig being blamed for the first goal? Because at the moment he is currently the popular scapegoat among some 'fans' (along with Nichols of course!)

I live abroad and watch pretty much all games on iFollow. To be honest I haven’t rated Craig much at all, but I can only see where the camera points.
I was back for the weekend vs Blackburn and for the first time I realized why stevek always rates Craig so highly. He organizes the defence (more than TL), he communicates & he’s a no nonsense defender.
That game made me realize the bloke genuinely has quality and leadership, TL can definitely learn from his experience and leadership qualities.
Sure me can make mistakes, that’s because he’s a midtable L1 defender

How many errors has locks made for goals this season? I can't recall having one player being so error prone, and I don't understand how he gets Welsh callups. But then I'm not the pro coach. Maybe he's losing interest or its unsettling at the back with so many changes.

If you think all we need is a 20-goal striker and we're sorted in terms of signings, I would have to respectfully disagree. I personally think we need a couple of quality full backs, a defensive minded midfielder and an out-and-out winger option. Possibly two strikers if we don't keep Gaffney.

Yeah I’d go along with that and if they were all good signings we’d maybe get top 2. Harrison has been so much improved this season but I think people are getting carried away in thinking there will be championship clubs after him this season. His attitude and will to win has been incredible and fair play to him but even at his best ever he looks an average league 1 striker and we haven’t got anyone else up front that would fit that bill. Gsfney for all his hardwork isn’t going to hit double figures in league 1 and Nichols signing let’s face it has been a disaster so far. In midfield our best player last season was O Clarke and he’s looked below this standard this season Sincs is amazing I take my hat off to the bloke he signed his first professional terms in his mid 20s and his attitude is second to none but again he’s average league 1 at best and also injury prone , lines is one of the best playmakers in league 1 but in his 30s now so he’s only going one way probably downhill , we have bought a good signing in Bennett and Moore has his moments but we need at least one more good wide man short probably two. Sercombe is a fantastic signing he’s good enough for a promotion push. The defence other than Broadbent don’t look to me like they’re capable of stepping up to a top 6 league 1 side. Lee brown offers a lot attacking and is a legend another of my favourites but gets caught out defensively at this level leads is injury prone Craig is getting on and Lockyer hasn’t improved over the last 2-3 years much and as we’ve moved up the leagues he’s got caught out more and more which suggests to me he hasn’t improved at the same rate as our rise through the leagues which considering his age we all hoped he would. Both keepers are ok not great and again probably not promotion keepers but I think Sam is the better of the two. Sounds like I’m tearing them apart I know but I’m not , overall we’ve got a great team mentality at our club with a great manager who’s done amazing well and so have his players but that 10 or so points off the play offs that we’ll finish the season is a big gap. I’m not suggesting tearing it all up and starting again but if we only add one more like sercombe over the summer along with a complete dud like Nichols has been ( so far) we’ll still be mid table this time next season. It wouldn’t be the end of the world and I’d be ok with that but obviously like every other Gashead I want to see us push on, just saying how I see it. UTG.

In an ideal world and if I had my way, to add to the players I mentioned previously, I'd also like a new no.1 goalkeeper and a big dominant centre back. That would be 8 players to bring in total. That might seem a lot to some people, but with the players I would let go it would balance itself out. Sweeney, Bola, Telford, Moore, Burn, James Clarke, Gaffney and possibly Leadbitter would be free to find new clubs (loanees returning). The Goalkeepers are of a similar standard, but if I could improve on that position and release one of them I would. It's going to be an interesting summer seeing what DC decides to do.

Yeah I’d go along with that . 8 sounds a lot but three of those are loans. Of course success depends on bringing better players in than you’ve let go. We lost Taylor , James couldn’t score, but we improved our defence - end result was ok. We lost Bodin , we brought in Bennett , not great but good so ok. We’ve stood still for two years because we’ve lost our best two players but strengthened overall. That’s where DC has excelled these last two years. In the past when we’ve lost our best players we’ve been relegated because they were our top player and we couldn’t cope without them. DC has always said we’re not a one man team never have been and that has given the rest the belief that no matter who we lose or how good they are WE are still good enough. Top bloke is our Clarkey.

DC obviously sees the games differently to you otherwise he wouldn't play them - his reputation relies on his selections - yours doesn't So have Nichols and Clarke had good seasons then? Moore hasn’t been bad of late, but has been terrible for 18 months and no goals or assists this season either, he rarely beats his man to get a meaningful ball in and in most cases lacks energy and enthusiasm. I’m not slagging DC as a manager, at all. As he has done brilliantly. But there are some undroppables which consistently underperform and stay in the team despite their performances. With dead rubber competitive games such as this, why not blood Broadbent and Telford? On today’s performance alone, Craig was at fault for the first goal, Clarke was just awful, Moore missed a sitter and Nichols was brushed aside constantly as he has been all year. Admittedly the service to him was poor. Feel free to admit you got the scapegoat wrong with the 1st goal anytime you like. I wont hold my breath waiting though.

Wasn’t there but the highlights show James Clarke giving the ball away for the first goal. Nichols being brushed aside sounds familiar . I’ll always support any player in the quarters but his weakness in 50/50 challenges all season really boils my water. The commentator on rad Bristol today said he’s got one of the highest work rates of any Rovers player , I spat out my beer and nearly threw the radio at the wall.

At the end of the day it was down to water poor team selection and water poor tactics A squad that’s mid table and a manager who’s tactics have seen our club alright these last four years. If that’s water poor then a step up to below average will see us in the premier league within two seasons 😂
