According to Google we need planning permission for a temporary stand? "As a rule of thumb, if you plan on using your temporary structure continually for more than 28 days, and/or it will be bigger than 100 m², you should be prepared to submit a planning application to your local authority." As I mentioned on another thread ( new temp stand) Gloucestershire cricket do it every season . The local authority are very relaxed and allow G.C.C.C. around 3-4 temp stands every year. This increase the ground from 8000 to 16000. When I asked last week at the MEM office they said " They haven't heard anything".

So we’re going to end up with having nine stands? Not sure how we’ve made it possible on a 4 sided football pitch but that’s awesome 👏 Does this one count? ![](https://bristolroverssc.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/dsa1.jpg) Fair play to the club for making an effort an all, but only rovers fans will truly understand the pain of following a club that does this sorta stuff haha. This & santas grotto - you've just got to laugh. UTG!

Its only a tentative plan, nothing has been pegged yet and no guide lines have been fixed.

You'd rather we just had uncovered areas? honestly yes Do you think that's a bit short sighted? The option of having a seat under cover where you can stay dry is surely far more appealing than standing on uncovered terracing (just think back to Tuesday night). On that basis it's an opportunity to encourage people to the ground on matchdays = more revenue which could = more investment in the squad.

it doesn't matter how many people you can squeeze in as everything else is so crap! We had "lunch" at Irene's Kitchen on Saturday, whilst it has a retro charm to it, its from another century! It could be so much better!

Well sure that's an ideal scenario but clearly one which involves greater planning scrutiny from the local authority which would probably make it unviable for the start of next season.

Plus cost the club a small fortune compared to a temporary stand, and no doubt everyone would take that as a sign we wouldn't be leaving the Mem anytime soon.

Isn't the best way to extend the south stand to the away section corner flag. Let's not forget the original P.P was for a 1200 seater south stand. A section have been taken off and it's around 900 now. So if we reinstated the 300 seats to how it was. Then continue right up to away terrace corner flag . This will add 600-800 in total.
The temp south stand could then hold around 1600 ( extra 700 new seats ) and the family stand could have a section within.

With all respect to our tented village, before we add another tent, perhaps we should get on the phone to Exeter City and ask how they have managed to knock down their old stand and afford to replace it - all in one season, ready for next and all this by a fan owned club.

Is this the evolution plan or the refurbishment plan ?, whatever it is, it is not going to be very pretty. Just when you think you are going to have some fabricated steel and concrete stands built, up steps a proposal akin to worthy farm. Ffs.

A couple of decent cup runs and not giving away their star players probably helped? Plus you have to hope this is a temporary measure until we get a new stadium not the permanent plan.

Even if things go well on a redevelopment plan for the mem from this point forward we are probably a good few seasons away from that plan yielding any permanent improvements to the ground.
Why not make some relatively cheap temporary improvements that increase our seated capacity and make more of the ground covered in the interim period.
Hopefully it may only require a relatively small investment that pays for itself in which case it's a no brainer isn't it?
Assuming these rumours are true then I say fair play to Wael & Co, this to me is just another sign that our owners are in this for the long haul.
