Congratulations & well played to GGMI on winning the PL. He is the champion for 2017/2018 (he wins a 20 pound voucher to spend in BRFC club shop) Well played also to PAULDON who finished runner up. AXEGAS top scored on the final week with 23 points inc 3 maximums. GGMI came second with 19 & 2. Third was ALLGAS&GAITERS with 17 & 2. Thank you to all who took part through out the Season. PL will be back in June for the WORLD CUP.

Top man Russ. What a fantastic competition and couldn't have wished for a better winner 😉 I changed one of my scores at the last minute yesterday, which cost me a point. So relieved that didn't cost me the title. I will be back for the double with the world cup.
Thanks, all.

Well done again GGMI - consistency itself. Lincsblue will be regretting that missed week though .... Thanks to Russgas - great effort to keep this going every week and to get the results out before most of us are even up on a Sunday morning.

Well done again GGMI - consistency itself. Lincsblue will be regretting that missed week though .... Thanks to Russgas - great effort to keep this going every week and to get the results out before most of us are even up on a Sunday morning. He will regret the missed week as who knows what would have happened, but in the end GGMI had a higher average points score than him so definitely a fair result. I forgot about the World Cup! Yes! I can’t ever remember a World Cup with less expectation for England’s chances (when we have qualified!) and also i’m sure it has been hyped less as a result. Might make it more enjoyable! Of course once the Champions league final is out the way that will probably all change. My son is nearly 5 and not quite interested enough to get immersed in it. I remember my first World Cup vividly - Mexico ‘86. Hand of God and all that. Brazil v France in the quarter final(??) was unbelievable, and I think the first game I ever saw where I was mesmerised by the quality of the football. In those days English clubs were banned from European competitions and the only footy on the TV was Domestic so it was like football from another planet! A year and a bit later I saw my first Gas match and then football changed for me all over again!

Remember when the likes of Rooney, Beckham etc were talked about ages in advance with their injury scares. My problem with us as as nation the media is that we focus too much on one thing or one player. For example, Rob Green's mistake. Yes it was a howler but did we really play that well? No. Lampard's disallowed goal vs Germany, did we match Germany in that game or look like beating them no? But some just constantly blamed the officials after. Or Beckham, Rooney etc we put all this pressure on one player's shoulders.

Congratulations and well played GGMI. Also many thanks to Russgas for running this fun competition again.
Poor season for me and it probably wouldn't have helped my case any had I played all the games. 38 correct out of 35 rounds is poor.
I look forward to the new season and a better outcome.
Have a fun a safe Summer gang.
