Shrewsbury for me. Perhaps losing in the JPT (Checkatrade) will push them on to victory in the playoffs like it did for us in 2007. I also don’t really like the idea of all three relegated teams going back up.

Shrewsbury have never succeeded at Wembley I believe. Although this is a different game and season, the fans will carry a negative vibe and this will transmit itself to the players. I haven't read their forum or the Star, their local rag, but I bet their losing run has been discussed ad nauseum.
Don't get me wrong, they deserve it, but I just have a feeling they'll bottle it.

For my local mates I hope it is Shrewsbury but on a pure selfish reason I hope it's Rotherham as Shrewsbury away for me is a 10 minute drive

Leaving aside Shrewsbury deserve to go up as being in the top 3 all season I wonder what's best for us if we hope to make a top 6 challenge, I assume Rotherham will be a force next season if they stay dwon in Div 1, but I wonder if Shrewsbury can have another strong a season as this one if they miss out on promotion?

Feel Shrewsburys loss of momentum means they might not make it and for certain will lose players in the close season and struggle next season as a result. If they make it they will still need to strengthen but it will be interesting to see how they fare. Will they be like Yeovile and come straight down or will they set us an example that if you get there you can survive. Shrewsbury certainly deserve to go up but feel the Rotherham know how might make the difference. As already said it would be nice if a different team went up instead of those 3 that came down the previous season. From a selfish point of view I would like to see strong teams make as opposed to those that become cannon fodder to established championship sides so it puts the sh** under pressure. Hate that there could be another 3 teams worse than them that saves their bacon again.

Was really friendly and me and the boy made to feel really welcome in one of the local pubs packed with almost exclusively home fans. Thought the welcome posters with DC's picture on the concourse were a nice touch and one steward took one down and gave it to my son to take home. That said, Shrews would be a new ground for me as only ever been to the old gay meadow.

I'd like them to go up as they've been top 2/3 all season.

Without a doubt it is better if Rotherham go up. Shrewsbury have had the better season but is their success going to be sustainable? I think they would lose some of their better players in the summer if they fail to go up. Nolan is the first one that springs to mind and Rotherham have better foundations to keep their best players and have another go next season. Rotherham have come into the playoffs in good form and I just feel Shrewsbury's season come to an end since Ogogo got suspended for an altercation with O'Toole. Their form dipped after then and if I'm honest I was surprised to see them get past Charlton. They seem cursed at Wembley too! Probably important to mention what a great season both managers have had! Paul Hurst especially. When you think of how he must have felt after losing in the play off final to us and to now be managing a team above us (bearing in mind our achievement since), is a great achievement. BUT it mustn't be forgotten what a great job Paul Warne has done at Rotherham. They were cut adrift at the bottom of the championship last season and I don't think many predicted them to be back up there this season. We ourselves know how hard it is to turn round a sinking ship.

Interesting stuff from Hurst: Jones was the man in the middle that dismissed Abu Ogogo early in the second half as Town secured a late 2-1 victory at the AESSEAL New York Stadium in November. Hurst disagreed with the decision to show a straight red card to his skipper at the time and, having watched the fixture back in recent days, holds the same opinion, writes Lewis Cox. That November clash was the only time that Merseyside official Jones, who has also refereed League Two and Championship games this term, has overseen Town this season. Hurst said: “Genuinely, I don’t mean it disrespectfully to the referee – I can’t remember his name – but am I turning silly to think it’s strange someone would get a game that they’ve refereed before and sent someone off either way? “It’s a tough job, I try not to say too much, but it does amaze me. It puts that little bit in your mind... if something does go wrong or astray. “That (Ogogo) challenge, people might say you can’t do that in today’s game but maybe I’m still guilty of wanting people to be men maybe more than they’re allowed to be.” Hurst was dismayed to see referee Gavin Ward, who failed to send Lincoln’s Matt Rhead off for an elbow on Dean Henderson at Wembley in the Checkatrade Trophy final last month, make more high-profile errors in the League Two play-off between Coventry and Notts County. He added: “I speak to another manager who has said they’ve put a complaint against him and you think ‘when did he have his good games to get the points or marks?’” Playing with 10 men in South Yorkshire did not cost Town as Stefan Payne popped up with a 94th-minute winner. Hurst continued: “We put a video together not too long ago of goals from the season and looking at some memories. “The celebration after that winning goal, it wasn’t anything against Rotherham, but playing a top team in your league and going down to 10 men and scoring that late goal, to see their faces. “Stef sets off running and you see the other lads knock each other over. You’re proud, you laugh, it’s amusing. “It epitomised a lot of the season full stop even though it was November. “It’d be great to see those scenes again but I’m hoping that we can keep 11 men on the pitch and not have to put ourselves through that.” www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbury-town-fc/2018/05/25/shrewsbury-boss-paul-hurst-bemused-by-decision-to-appoint-robert-jones-as-referee-for-wembley-final/Maybe a yellow:
