Heard a few rumours lately that Tom Lockyer is on our centre back recruitment list.
Our first choice seems to be Callum Connolly from Everton but it's proving difficult to do.
Do you think he's Championship standard and can he play any positions other than centre back? Cheers.

Wasn't at his best at the start of last season and some fans were calling for him to be dropped. Quite small for a centre back, so it's not commanding, in either box. He still has time to develop, but at the moment I don't think he's a Championship player.

Swap him for Bodin...
Not a chance he's ready for Championship. He was ok at RB wasn't he? He was originally a CM (not the greatest though I think) but did so well filling in at CB he made the position his own.
We have (for once) a big fat contract on Tom of 5 years. So we'll take 1m per year left - that should make up for the steal you got with Bodin - cheers!

I think he could play at Championship level personally, although there will be a few who disagree. He reads the game quite well, has decent pace and is quite comfortable with the ball at his feet, although he does need to improve his passing. He has played for us a right back and as a holding midfielder, but is primarily a central defender. What sort of price have you heard mentioned?

He has the potential to be a championship defender definitely but I’m not sure if he’s good enough right now. He’s quick, positionally aware and a good tackler but maybe a little less physical or tall as you would want a centre back to be but I suppose he is is still 6ft. He’s recently made it into the Welsh setup too so we expected interest in him, also our captain and an ever present in our team over the last couple of seasons so I’d be sad to him go.

Menayese could fill his spot. Done well at Swindon.
I wouldn't be too upset if moved to PNE for a decent fee. Not another almost freebie.
Decent CBs are not that difficult to come by at this level; would leave us with Partington, Broadbent, Menayese, Tony Craig that can all play CB. Part for me would be better at CB as he is not the quickest to play full back.

Yes he can come good in the Championship, and of course he has recently picked up a few Welsh caps. He's yours

Wales might be lacking in CB's but can anybody say somebody who's a Wales International isn't good enough for the Championship, although whether he's good enough, or at least as the potential, for a top 6 is another question.

Haven't been told a figure, just told by someone reliable he's on our list if we don't get Connolly. 200+ games at 23 years of age seems good going? Did he look comfortably in those other positions? Bodin was decent enough when he came in but I think he'll really kick on next season. Showed a lot of skill and potential.

Well a 22 year old winger, who was part of there euro squad has just signed for FGR. So playing a few games for Wales, means nothing!

Once Bodin has fully settled in and had a pre-season with you I'm sure he'll kick on and perform well. Lockyer played quite a bit as a right back in our non-league season, he performed ok, but you could tell he wasn't a natural in the position. He also played as a holding midfielder last season against Blackburn when we drew 1-1 and played really well I thought. But like I said, he is a centre back by trade and that is where he is most comfortable.

How many serious injuries as Locks sustained which have knocked his development back like Williams? Going off topic but Williams seems a very good signing for FGR.
