I don't expect to see anymore than two permanent signings coming in. Almost certainly a left back and maybe a bigger striker. Although either of these could end of being loan players. I would be surprised if we don't get at least one player in on loan.
I don't think DC will get another CB. From what I've heard about Upson looking like a decent defensive midfielder, hopefully this help to reduce the amount of goals we concede.
What has happened to Rollin Menayese by the way? Have I missed something?

In goal, I would prefer a new goalkeeper and Slocombe as back up. We have lots of strength in dept at RB with the 3 that can play there. Left back, I would like at least one new one if not 2. CB we look fairly covered but I feel it is harsh to leave Broadbent out of the first 11. If we really mean business then maybe another CB but we should be ok without another. It's just the balance I am unsure about, I don't like the lack of height with Lockyer and Craig but then who do you drop to play Broadbent? Craig is the more vocal. Lockyer is a Welsh international for a reason and is the mainstay and captain of the team. I'm happy with our centre midfield now, loads of strength in depth, which is always good. This is where we look strongest IMO. Upson, Clarke, Lines, Sercombe, Sinclair, Russe and Matthews can slot in if needed. I would be happy if any of these are in the starting 11 each week. Out wide - Left hand side looks particularly strong with Bennett and Rodman. Right side not so much but Matthews looks a good signing, Mensah looked raw last season so am unsure what to expect from him. Up front - Ellis (if we can keep him) brilliant, not seen Reilly thus far but appears to be a shrewd signing on a free. Nichols - This is going to sound harsh but I think this could be our downfall keeping him, this is a make or break season for him, but I don't see where the sudden improvement is going to come from. Watching him last night, there looks no difference to last season. His only saving grace is that he will have a better pitch to play on next season. I would be a lot more confident if we had Telford instead of Nichols. We need another striker regardless too. Really hope Ellis doesn't go this summer as otherwise it could be a disaster in this position. Re TB assuming he's fully fit if he made the bench last night (he's looking fit in his summer Insta uploads!) then why not give him some game time, as what's DC learning from watching Locks & TC in our friendlies? I do fear TB will think he's better off elsewhere getting game time than stuck on the bench all season given he's hardly a youngster. Upfront until we've seen Reilly in league action it's impossible to know if he was a shrewd signing or not regardless we clearly need to spend some money to replace Gaffers but the closer we get to August the more you sense we're just hoping to get another striker on the cheap.

Without even attending a friendly it is clear, annnd I've stopped reading. That was a strange opening gambit from the OP, he is generally quite accurate with his assessments of games and players. I will reserve judgement until the start of the season/end of the window, before generalising about the state of the nation/squad.

If your phone is genuinely rubbish by all means smash it against the wall, however if it is a post or poster that is frustrating you perhaps it would be wiser to throw a sh***ead against a wall and then contemplate your fate in the cell of woe with the Henbury Gas one?

The key word here was "appears" Topper. Try reading the post before jumping on it. As for why I think he looks a shrewd signing. He is coming here confident, on the back of a strong season in the Scottish Championship with St Mirren. Jack Ross, who was clearly a success at St Mirren, wanted to keep him. He sounds aggressive in his style of play which will suit us too.

I will reserve judgement until the start of the season/end of the window, before generalising about the state of the nation/squad. Too many times I have judged a pre-season campaign thinking we're onto a good/bad season. In the end I'm always wrong. I think the biggest one was with Buckle - I remember watching us playing this superb, fast moving, passing, attacking football. Even against Reading where we lost 2-1, we were sublime. It was a strange one considering we then decided once the season started that we should scrap that

To be fair to the OP it's fairly obvious we need a commanding CH, hence we had Sweeney & TB in the squad last season, we also clearly need to replace LB & Gaffers plus a pacey RW to replace BM wouldn't go a miss. DC's own comments about "donations" suggest he's working on a restricted budget so it'll be interesting to see if he can replaces RS, LB & RG with with better places which will be required if the aim really is a top 6 finish.

Without even attending a friendly it is clear that we are at least three signings away from competing above half way in |League 1. A dominating experienced centre half - to cut out the number of headers scored against us. None of our current centre halves are capable of regularly heading away crosses into the box. A strong centre forward - we are too light weight and will continue that way especially as we have lost Gaffney. DC should worry more about the basics strength, pace and power rather than forever changing formation. At least one experienced full back or play Craig there as a stay at home full back and actually play attacking players in front of the full backs. Personally I would add a pacy winger to those mentioned as well. Surely there is some money in the budget for a couple of key signings- we seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper each season. I would have to agree on the positions we still need to strengthen - A dominating centre back, a striker, a left back (possibly two) and another wide option. I'm surprised we didn't go in for the 6ft 4in Sheffield United CB Ben Heneghan who has joined Blackpool on loan for the season. Perhaps we did and missed out to them for him, but whatever, he would have been ideal in my mind.

I would love us to sign a big, black, strong, powerful, athletic striker in the mound of Barry Hayles or Jason Roberts. If one was available or could be tempted to come here of course. I think it would compliment Harrison, Reilly or Nichols very well.
We do need a full back or 2 and a dominating centre half as well for sure.
