Yes those Bloody Europeans have done it again. The Czech Republic are in first place for total beer consumption. We, the UK, are 25th overall. A shocking statistic. We know why this is obviously!! All these foreign types coming here and not partaking in booze sodden weekend nights.
They must have failed the Britishness test!!
Still when we leave the EU, we will be restored to our rightfull position. We can look in the mirror, seek out a home grown Brit, and say we are the best without fear of international comparisons.

I blame the fannies who go off and ask what coloured wine they should be drinking over dinner.

The UK builds more cars than Germany ! And they're owned by? Does it matter who owns the manufacturers? It's still a lot of jobs. Who owns Mercedes-Benz? Who owns the London Stock Exchange? It's shareholders, that's who, and they probably come from all around the world !

And none of the profit they make goes back into the UK.

Its very strange that Nobby praises car production in the UK, when the main reason our production has risen to its current highs is that we are an open economy with a free trade arrangement with worlds highest value trading bloc. An industry owned by Indians, Japanese, Chinese, Germans, French Americans. What's not to like?

Those owners also pay employment tax, vat and whatever corporate tax they are liable for. They also generate a huge amount of income for UK based suppliers. And so on. The days of parochial ownership are over. One of our very best tech companies, Arm Holdings, was taken over by the Japanese during the last 18 months. Their chips are in a huge portion of media devices.

There are only shareholders. Do you really think Mercedes-Benz is German owned?

Nobster, I'm not getting into this with you, it was a throw away comment and to be honest, I'm just enjoying a beer in the sun. No offence.

I'm sweating like a Para in a spelling contest in work, in my Daisy Dukes, and you're supping a pint of finest ale.
