Genuine question (and i'm sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere), now that Rovers do not have an early bird ticket available online is it now cheaper to buy on the gate? Just went to book two tickets for Saturday but you get charged a £1.50 admin fee on top the ticket price (£18 x 2 + £1.50). (Edit: also 65p charge for postage) So i'm thinking is it better to pay on the day or am i missing something here (2x £18)? It may depend on whether club have changed anything at the ticket office. For several seasons the tkt office portacabins have been a little over complicated by charging 1 fee (a flat fee) if you use debit card, a different type of fee (per ticket) if you use a credit card, and free for cash. Ending early bird tkts, yet still charging for postage & transaction fees online is a serious step backwards for fans who don't have STs. I don't think that one was thought through! So i'm not going mad then. It is a little bit silly to try to force people to buy online but charge more than paying on the day for this. I'll be getting there early and paying by cash and i'll save enough for half a fancy sausage roll.

If we ever manage the lofty heights of the championship and beyond there will hardly been any pay on the day sales and it will be online and ticket collections only

Can anyone explain to me why we could not have kept 2/3 cash turnstiles ? or am i being duller than usual? because this SAT we are expecting delivery so cant order on line in case the delivery come to late, so may be last minute dash to join the expected queue chaos , suppose, could come on me own ,doubt whether could get away with that , eh ,henpecked, what me !

Although if you turn up @ 3:00 fans aren't going to be turned away. Not sure the difference between 2/3 cash turnstiles and 2/3 ticket office windows being open for home game TBH.

That's what I assumed but not sure why he would be expecting Sat delivery. They usually come next day or 2 days tops.

Last two opening games were 9,000+. They have sold 5,000 I think, season tickets, say a thousand online sale, 500 away fans, so 2,500 to 3,000 queuing. Anyone know if they have recruited any extra staff.

YEP thank you Topper your right, worried our argos delivery will be to late, and presume cash would just be a quicker process than getting ticket and then entering through auto turnstiles?

Not saying you're wrong about the turnstiles, but if you're not, then it seems a bit ridiculous. But the bolded bit, I'm sure that's entirely incorrect. Neither am I but there's no magnetic strip or sign of a electonic chip on the card, it just looks like a bit of plastic to me plus if they are now just producing them in the club shop(?) I can't see there is anything high tech about them. Its a NFT card

I thought the whole point is to not have staff in the turnstile, but to have stewards outside (and/or just inside the ground) who sort out any problems. Every away ground I've been to who have electronic turnstiles make you but a tkt at an office. Also, the point is to take cash away from turnstile operators / have less cash to bank in general. But ours aren't electronic turnstiles but just card machines to count the number of spectators using each turnstile in order to meet the latest FA rules, the turnstile operator as still got to let you in. I sense you can just stick a Tesco clubcard etc in the new machines and they'll still work!! The old turnstiles used to count people - you don't need a new electronic system to count people in.

Do Oyster cards have chips? I doubt TFL would let you use a Tesco Clubcard on the basis they trust you've bought a ticket!

It's just people that paid online but too late for postage or people rocking up on the day?

Totally confused after reading this thread ta. You have to wait in a queue. I will be in the same queue to buy my Wycombe tickets as the online process is a joke.

Totally confused after reading this thread ta. The club website article said you have to buy a ticket at the ticket office and then go to the turnstiles Whether you use the ticket on the auto turnstile or hand it to an operator is anyone's guess.
