Aye I was a regular poster on the old forum many moons ago... finally have a ST again so thought I'd get back on here (plus it kills valuable office time!).
Yeah the lad scored 20-odd goals for St.Mirren last year, clearly knows where the goal is. Many on here (and me included though I've obviously not voiced this yet) would like to see us take a chance on players that have bagged plenty of goals in non-league, well right here we have someone who scored consistently last year in the Scottish second-tier, why can't he be the answer?
No I agree, he looks a good signing. Will have to see more of him in front of goal to judge his finishing abilities, but from the little I have seen, he will at least work hard and pressurise the opposition. Also has one hell of a leap on him. No need to worry about Gavin in front of goal but he needs someone to play off, whatever happens now with regards to signings it would be ridiculous not to start him Saturday

It's like a poundland version of that TV show where Griezmann announced what his new club would be. Youtube should get in there and live stream the moment when Bakayoko makes his decision to a global audience of about 3 people.

Don't think Danny Rowe fits our profile at all. £200k for a 28 year old doesn't make sense for us. I think we are looking at younger players with the potential to make a future profit on. If we are going to go for an older striker like that then think we are better getting them on a free and fit into our wage structure. Agree entirely - something we have been very good at over the years

Bakayoko must be reading the forums thinking "who's going to give me the least abuse: Walsall, Rovers or Coventry?"

Hope this doesn't mean that the Manager is sat around waiting for the answer before moving on. He should be interviewing 4 or 5 strikers from his list and gertting a move on. Is there any reason why all the activity has to be down to the last day? seems to me we are very poor at getting players through the door but far more efficient at letting them out.

Send to Coventry-is an English idiom meaning to deliberately ostracise someone.Typically this is done by not talking to them, avoiding their company and acting as if they no longer exist.

Our Summer transfer business has not come down to this! The bulk of our transfer business was done weeks ago, and it's been pretty good. What it's come down to is replacing two strikers, given that one of our signings is a forward maybe one permanent one loan. As for Harrison being our best player, not convinced by that, and he's not exactly prolific. Wasn't that long ago people were slating Harrison, and whilst I agree he's improved, he's not Rickie Lambert. I'd love for us to have signed a couple of quality strikers by now, and I know we need at least one in the door, but I don't think our whole summer transfer business comes down to this one thing. If we fail to bring in goals before the deadline we will be in for a very tough season. Don't disagree that we need a striker or two, not convinced that we are relegation fodder though as I think the rest of the squad is good enough to keep us from trouble, I'm not saying I would be happy with that though.

One goal v Yeovil, FGR, Exeter and another by Locks at Posh hardly supports the "we've nothing to worry about" viewpoint. As far as Bako I'd still drive him here every week myself rather than start with just Nichols upfront til January! Reilly will also need a decent CF to play off.
