Probably considering his options as we speak. I hope I'm wrong, but I can see him walking before the end of the season. It doesn’t look good does it? He could get a better gig elsewhere. Could he though? Two promotions from the Conference and L2 are obviously impressive but he hasn't exactly set L1 alight as yet. Tactically questionable away from home thus far. I would be amazed if a Championship club came calling if he left us in this position. Would be a hugely brave move to walk out, especially as he's been given the freedom to build his own backroom team here. That likely wouldn't be the case elsewhere.

If DC walks, John Terry player/manager? The players wives would petition for it.

Bang on. As DC has said we have lost 60 goals and trying to fix that by spending 150k on 9 goals in 93 games is a pathetic statement of intent from the owners. Get your wallets out and invest in the team rather than bean counters! Think he would have been brought in to help the team score more. He would create space for our midfielders etc, to go into. Yeah i get that- but that really is a massive risk because our strikers have yet to show they can score the goals we need. He could end up assisting Nichols to shoot wide every time. We need to pony up for Doidge and have done with it imo.

Nothing I have heard or read so far leads me to believe that we would part with anything like the amount of money it would take to get Doidge in the building. We are penny pinching. I’m sure of it.

This is not the first time this has happened and wont be the last, players change their minds, agents think they can get themselves more money and people who should know better tell everyone and the other club decides to try again.
Any number of scenario's and unfortunately our Manager gets annoyed and our Board the blame, it happens but lets hope someone at BRFC can call in some favours and get us a new striker.

If you are a loyal fan then anything that comes to your ear from anyone inside the Club should be treated as 'privileged information' not something to be banded about and which could affect a sensitive situation. Just imagine if you tell your best friend something personally sensitive and he goes and tells everyone something which you might have wanted to tell others in your own good time. How would that make you feel? I'm not a loyal fan, because I want people to know the truth about what is going on at the club? Get real mate. Think you're just trying to find out where I got my info. Afraid you won't find that out. You said it - and I believe you. As for what is going on at the Club - you know very little if that is the pinnacle of what you know. Those who really know do not blab on forums - they keep it to themselves and leave it to the Club officials to make announcements - which is, or should be, the correct procedure. Particularly, as in this case, you do not know all the facts.

Gas-Ed when we have annual losses like we do it does not surprise me at all that the Board take the stance they do. I am not sure you can really blame then, others would splash the cash and potentially get the club in to a bigger mess. There is still time to get someone else in.

Smacks of Trump blaming the media for reporting the news! So what if a forum user broke this news? We as fans deserve to know how much of a cock-up this whole striker fiasco has been this summer.

So Sercombe, Rodman etc would have got more chances probably.

Were we about to go bust if we hadn’t received the money from the sale of Ellis and Gaffney? If not, surely that money is money we didn’t previously have and could have done without? If that is the case, surely we can dip into the money in the pot to buy a player. If we hadn’t made any revenue on player sales, then I would be disappointed not to sign anyone but would understand. But unless Ellis and Rory’s names were passed around potential suitors, because we are struggling to stay afloat, we have money that we wouldn’t have had previously.

Don't blame me for such information being leaked but not made official by the club. You also might want to go careful with attacking the poster. If it was so confidential why was the info leaked from WITHIN the club. Stop blaming supporters. Was it deliberately leaked?

I agree, but I question what we are spending our money on in the first place. A CEO, head of marketing, head of recruitment etc aren't going to be working for free and you would expect Hamer to be drawing a salary. Nevermind the expense of this office in London! All of that is palatable under the banner of moving the club to a more professional footing but, that being said, you simply cannot sell 60 goals worth of strikers and use that money to pay for these positions without adequately replacing them. If we get relegated due to lack of goals we are going to be in trouble in league 2 with all this personnel bloat and a drop in crowds. It appears we are now right at the limit of our liquidity as we have limited spending on the team after taking on these new admin roles. Worrying times.
