Smith 7 - Not much to do, good save near the end J Clarke - 7.5 Good against a tricky winger oh and a goal Craig 7.5 - Much better performance Lockyer 8 - Didnt miss much Broadbent 8 - Mistake for the goal but gave the beast a battle Matthews 8 - Excellent was a constant menace Sercombe 8 - Back to his old self though out wide again Upson 7.5 - Really steady and composed O Clarke 7.5 - Steady Nicholls 8 - Looks like him and Payne will make a good partnership Payne 8.5 MOM - Never stopped and constantly bothered defenders
Bennett 6.5 Reilly 7
Ref 6 - Bang average Crowd away 10 home 0 D.C. - Got it right this week Wycombe 4 - Definate relegation fodder
Excellent in first half but dropped off in second, Matthews looks impressive and Payne reminds me of how King Rickie used to play! Still not 100% Solid at the back but a good win which we needed. Different test Tuesday against a strong Pompey team! Think we need to play with two up front especially at home. Onto next project UTG

Good all round team display against a poor Wycombe side. I would give each player a 7 all played their part and just single out 2 players Ollie Clarke and Stefan Payne both 8 they never stopped battling and won balls they shouldn’t of well done the Gas.
Ref 6 Crowd home - 2 bloody drum. Wycombe 4 relegation material on that performance. Gas fans excellent 9 DC I was worried by the team he selected but can’t argue 3 points and well done
PS the beast you must admire him great character.

Not at game so can't mark, but its interesting looking at prev 2 posters marks eg one marks Craig and Nicholls at 5s the other marks same two players with 8s, just confirms the old sayings like 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' and how different our opinions are on the same things!

Smith 6.5 - quiet afternoon but one good save
J. Clarke 7.5 - did well in defence and a poacher's goal was an added bonus Lockyer 7.5 - did well against the Beast Broadbent 7.5 - commanding with good distribution. Marked down slightly as at fault for their goal. Craig 7.5 - probably the weakest of the back four defensively but did well and took his goal superbly.
Matthews 7.5 - did well, has great creativity which we need. Could be better defensively. Appears quite one footed. Upson 7 - did ok without being overly impressive O. Clarke 8 - good battling performance Sercombe 8 - explosive and dynamic
Nichols 7 - good performance but needs to score. Had one decent chance which should have scored even though it brought a good save. Payne 8.5 - led the line superbly. Won many balls that he had no right to. Great rapport with the fans. We desperately need a back-up number 9 as there is nobody else who can play this role.
Subs:Bennett 5.5 - is falling short of what we know that he can produce Reilly 6.5 - bags of energy and looks like he could be a good player Rodman - NOLE
Crowd away 10 - home 3. Great atmosphere in the away end Ref 6 Wycombe 3 - certainties for relegation. A bit worrying that only our defenders could score against them.

Smith 6 looked like an accident about to happen but never did J Clarke 7 - solid Craig 7 Solid took his goal well Lockyer 7 kept the beast tamed today Broadbent 7 looked confident in his work Matthews 8 A star is born ! Sercombe 7 good game just wish he would pass sometimes and not just shoot Upson 6 tidy if uninspiring O Clarke 8 Back to his normal powerful game Nicholls 8 best game so far for us will score plenty along side the big guy Payne 8 going to be a good'un for us
Bennett 5 looked like a lost boy today Reilly 6 looked good for the short time on
Ref 4 Crowd away 8 home 0 Wycombe 4 this form they will be going back to LGL 2 next season

Results in and Stefan Payne was Man of the Match for a second game in a row with a score of 8.21.
Payne becomes the third player to score MotM in their first two league games, following Matty Taylor and James Clarke.
This was James Clarke's best rating since Bolton away in February 2017.
The starting XI average was 7.38, only four league games were higher last season.
The gap between the Rovers average rating and Wycombe's team rating was 3.52. The only bigger gaps in Rovers' favour last season were away to Northampton (5.53) and home to Southend (3.85). There were also bigger differences when we were outclassed at Bradford (4.09)and Shrewsbury (6.11).
Smith 6.6
J. Clarke 7.4 Lockyer 7.4 Broadbent 7.4 Craig 7.0
Matthews 7.7 Upson 6.8 O. Clarke 7.9 Sercombe 7.6
Nichols 7.3 Payne 8.2
Subs: Bennett 5.9 Reilly 6.6 Rodman 7.0
Crowd 6.1 Ref 5.0 Wycombe 3.9
