Greetings gasheads You host us tomorrow and it’s a game we now look forward to.
A quick rundown on our team as it stands. Week 1. We got played off Fratton Park by Luton but our defence was resilient and we won the game 1-0 No one was happy with the performance but everyone was happy with the result. We won playing badly, what’s the old adage? Sign of s good side winning when playing badly!
Week2. We took the game to Blackpool for 75mins and deserved a 0-2 shoreline. They came back at the end but we managed a 1-2 win.
Week3. Oxford came to Fratton Park and were absolutely blown away in the first 75 mins. Ben Thompson, our recent loan signing knitted everything together and oxford got out lightly.
Onto Tuesday night. Hawkins is a tall centre forward who has yet to score but has 4/5 assists already. Behind him you’ll find both flanks with our game winners. Lowe and Curtis. Lowe was the torturer of oxford and Curtis did the same to Blackpool. Both have real pace, really good engines and give their markers no time. We press high up the park and could be a reason sides come into the game about minute 75. A real weakness after the strength. Thompson put in s man of the match award performance on his debut and is a real live wire who flies into tackles like his life depends upon it. Naylor and Evans make up our midfield with Naylor, lured from Burton a particularly good signing for us. Our own Jack and Matt Clarke are the CBs. Clarke is the jewel in the crown and rated very highly. The fullbacks are Walkes, a signing from Spurs who is pacy and a good understanding with Lowe already. Brown needs no introduction to you. He seems steady at the back and good going forward. His lack of pace is covered by Curtis who has enabled him to push forward well. It’s a good combination with much expected of it. Mac in goal has proved to be a good signing and commands his area well. With a strong bench including Pitman, Burgess and the recently signed Wheeler from QPR previously Exeter we boast a good back up. We as fans are not sure whether we are yet the real deal but a winning start and improving displays each time bode well.
We’ve always had a good atmosphere between our sides and a healthy respect for each other’s fans. We have travelled better to you than you have at fratton but our last visit wasn’t my favourite I’ll admit.
Here’s hoping for a great game and advert for league 1 football.
How’s Kyle getting on with you? He always had talent but it was realised too little too often with us.
Regards
Bob

Not heard anything about that but we did miss out on Mo Eisa who went to them up the road from you. Cheltenham used us to start a bidding war but thankfully we are not drawn into such affairs nowadays. Would love to put one over both of them in cup comps this year though!

Since when have you been able to afford £1m+ for a player, did you actually spend any money on transfer fees this summer? Back to tomorrow night it seems pointless turning up has your team is clearly far to superior to ours with it seems no real weaknesses.

First players we have bought since the fans bought the club and then sold it to the tornante group headed by the Eisner’s who are running the club on a eat what you kill basis. The sale of Webster to them up the rd gave us £1m to start with. The infrastructure, training ground, medical centre are all paid for the Eisner’s got the club for pretty much nothing based on selling themselves to the fans and are delivering across the board. If they wanted to they could buy the league but that’s not the deal and one we as fans don’t want the club to tread again. However, with our gate money and new sponsorship deals we are at least able to hold our own with just about anyone in this league. On top of that which players at league 1 level wouldn’t want to play at fratton in front of nearly 20k a game?

Were your fingers burning to press buttons? It’s a friendly post, no angst intended or delivered only that which you bring! Think about it. As for ‘no weaknesses’ did I not say that after min 75 we seem to run out of steam and other teams come into the games?! Is that not a weakness actually explained? Do your own team hold no other cards than Kyle Bennett? It’s not need to know basis info we give out here but football fans having a chat. Would you be so churlish in the pub over a beer or actually converse decently? I always prefer away fans at fratton, it makes for a better atmosphere and that is something we know about at fratton. Hopefully it’ll be just as good tomorrow night.

Bob you know your onions, hope you enjoy the visit tomorrow and safe journey, however your record has to stop sometime, so a scrappy 1 0 Gas win with Bennett scoring in the 85th minute. Browner is a great pro you ve got a good player there. Play up Pompey except against us.😀

He was always so frustrating, obvious talent but was anonymous on more than one occasion. See tipper, not hard is it said with an inflection!?

So you can catch a train to Brighton or London an hr up the rd for a good night out. Alternatively you could visit one of the most densely built up areas with an appropriate amount of pubs to boot. And if you know where you’re going, some really good ones!

Hey bobsy,I've never seen Lowe in action but my prediction is he will be nobbled by Craig in the opening 5 minutes.Hawkins will obviously score a couple if he's tall.We tend to fare better against a team that will come on to us,so it should certainly be an entertaining game.I will go for a 3-2 gas win.

Just out of interest, do Pompey fans also think John Westwood is a c*nt? He divides opinion and I’m actually divide on him as well. I’ve met him several times. Before he’s watered he can be a good man to meet and converse with. Always got time for a pic with parents and kids etal. However, once watered he is a nauseating cvnt I agree and his antics raise more than a few eyebrows. He’s lucky to not be arrested on several occasions but standing up and watering in his seat at St Mary’s for saints fans to see was genius if flawed.
