According to a Sky Sports journalist on Twitter, who gets most things right, he is set to join Lincoln City on loan.
Quite a strange move unless we are bring in a replacement?

From what I saw in pre season, he’s far from ready to make the first team yet. Fair play if DC is going to promote him though, it’s what the development squad is for.

If he had been desperate to move you would of thought he would have let DC know over the summer and he would have gone by now.

This appears to be very strange. Slocombe had a good season last time round and performed far better than Smith. I think that Smith is a great no.2 so hopefully Darrell has got an incoming loan lined up to be the new no.1

I thought it was odd that after he'd started the first two league games and Smith had a ropey game against Crawley that he was dropped at the weekend.

Lincoln's number one Vickers has a shoulder injury following on from a similar injury he had last season, hence their Manager is looking into bringing in a keeper. Ironically their number two Grant Smith only joined in the summer and is yet to make his debut.

Yeah I stopped short of saying he had a shocker, but equally I wouldn't say there was anything exceptional that he did that warranted a recall

I’d say that DC may have decided neither keeper is good enough and has a loan lined up who is better to replace Slocombe.
Time will tell, but let’s hope so

I have a feeling DC is loosing a bit of patience with the goal keepers.
It could just be that one or both of the keepers were getting annoyed with lack of playing time. It was odd to sign what you would call two first team lowwr league keepers last year as almost all teams at our level often have kids or keepers clearly not league standard as back up and just bring in one on loan if their first choice gets injured.
Will we bring a keeper in on loan? I don’t think we will. I am sure there will be a recall clause if we need to Slocombe back.

"BristolLive understands that Scunthorpe-born Slocombe has been keen to return to the North after buying a house in the North Lincolnshire town where he started his career."

This will mean a new keeper will be coming in, which I think is a position we can improve.
