Don't usually bother with food at the ground, as I am always make sure I eat before. However, was in a rush last night, so purchased a meal deal for £5 (Piglet Sausage Roll and a coffee). Have to say, I didn't realise they had that offer and after trying the sausage roll, I was very impressed. Now, I wouldn't call myself a sausage roll connoisseur but probably the best I have ever had, very tasty! Also had a drink in the clubhouse before the game and the Thatcher's Haze was the best I had tried too, not sure if it was a new barrel or something but tasted gorgeous.

Having had the sausage rolls before, I thought you were being serious until the Thatchers Haze comment and now I’m not too sure. It’s not like Haze is like a hard to keep ale.

Tried one for the first time last night as well and it was fantastic if not a bit too filling tbh!

I have always enjoyed a pastie at the Mem but they must have changed the supplier because they taste like Ginsters now....maybe I'll go for the sausage roll next time!!

I had beans on toast . Heinz Beanz (don't know when they changed from beans to Beanz, but very clever) on Richard bertinets very fine sourdough bread, toasted. I shall try a sausage roll at the Southend match. I had stopped buying food at the mem when it dawned on me that a Chicken curry pie was suitable for vegetarians!

I don't like either thatchers haze or thatchers gold. The dry, traditional, and cheddar valley are good ciders but are now becoming difficult to find in Bristol. Strange that thatchers promote gold as 'what cider's supposed to taste like' when it doesn't taste like what cider's supposed to taste like and they have other brands that do taste like what cider's supposed to taste like....

Sourdough bread really does make the best toast. Anyone who hasn't tried it, and who likes toast, should do so at the earliest opportunity. Not sure if you can by it at the Mem food huts though? Didn't i read somewhere that BRFC were looking for any suggestions from fans to improve the matchday experience?

I prefer the more traditional ones too. Vintage, Katy, green goblin etc are nice. And I like the dry ones like cheddar valley (although I get watered easy on them!). I prefer Haze to Gold. Gold is way too sweet and I have a sweet tooth! Shows how people just follow what is popular though!

Its better out of a tin because its flatter! Katy is great but can only manage about 3 bottles before its a bit all over the shop! Currently tho, Green Goblin is my top tipple....

My own preferences aside, I can totally understand why the club sell haze and gold, I guess they're the generic ciders that keeps the customer happy.... I've even been known to squeeze a good 2 or 3 in before kick-off myself....
