The red looked to me like both players slid in with both feet. If lines had rolled around screaming too he probably wouldn’t have been sent off. Terrible defending for both goals. Lockyer and Craig shouldn’t be playing together I really hope Broadbent gets a run in the side and we need to use the loan window to bring in another too.

If that was a red card for Lines then we may as well give up watching football!

What sign two more bench warmers that’s all DC signs

The red looked far worse on the night form the East Terrace, but there were no real complaints from anyone so I guess that the Sky angle just doesn't show the foot going up over the ball like it looked (from where I was standing)last night.

I can't understand what Lines was doing, it looked like a two footed lunge to me for no obvious reason, his waving is of his finger reaction probably suggests he feared the worse.
Although god knows what Locks was doing for the second goal, the first looked like their No 9 held Upson down from jumping otherwise he would have cleared the ball up field.

Can anyone help please ?
Every time I click on the video link, or try & watch on the skysports.com site, I get the adverts OK but then the video screen goes blank and I never see the match highlights. Does anyone have a solution please? (last season it all worked fine on the same laptop). Thanks

Useless defending once again cost us and a very weak penalty by lines lucky that went in

It was a stone wall penalty, and given the keeper went the right way and still couldn't save it, I'd say it was a very good penalty.

I was on the ET with a great view and it seemed harsh at the time. The reaction of the Portsmouth players played a big part in the decision I think.

If that was a red card for Lines then we may as well give up watching football! It looked to me like a 50/50 but because their player made a meal of it and their players reacted Lines got the red. Ref was conned I reckon.

Having done a freeze frame on it (work is pretty boring this morning!) it seems Lines is quite late, the Pompey player slides past lines and takes the ball away before Lines slides in - seems to catch his knee albeit at ground level.

Highlights? what about the great saves their keeper made and the one cleared off the line. Ref had a very good view of the tackle, but it doesn't look any worse than the challenge on Bennett in the first half that didn't even get a yellow.

He let the game flow and did let quite a lot go: Craig was frequently wrestling with their strikers. I did think we should have had penalty/free kick earlier (in the first half) when a shot was blocked from. Granted, the defender was pretty close to the shot, but he moved both hands towards the ball - probably to protect his bolll*cks. Also thought he was quite professional how our penalty wasn't a knee jerk whistle blow: he gave it a few seconds to think about it and then brought the game back. Unfortunately the ref was perfectly placed for the Red.

Certainly looked like Lines dived in and his foot when over the ball. clear red from the East

Another couple of goals where Tom Lockyer is not doing his job. Time to drop him for good. Free up the budget.

If Lines tackle was a red card then so was there number 32 (I think that was his number) when he took out Bennett. He only got a yellow for that yet he slid in with both feet and had no control whatsoever when he made contact. Not the most consistent refereeing we've had. Defensive errors but our game is getting better. Cut out the mistakes and we will soon zoom up the table.
