I guess the question for some is could anyone do better with what we have? I don't think so, but I do understand why the question is being asked. You think Hurst couldn't after his performance last season? He may not be able to do much with the current squad because it is so imbalanced but I bet he could have spent the budget better in tje first place. What budget ?, the reason we have **** players, is because DC is given a **** budget, he has been saying for ages he is shopping in Lydls and wants to shop in Waitrose, thats why all the top players turn BRFC down; clubs with money get the better players, Ellis to Ipswich, Bodin to Preston and that ******* snake to the *****.

There is only so long DC and his team can go on and polish this turd.... I guess the question for some is could anyone do better with what we have? I don't think so, but I do understand why the question is being asked. It would he interesting to know where our budget lies compared to the other Div 1 sides as I can't recall many spending over £200K plus on strikers like we have for the last two summers. Our problem is we can't seem to replace Lines, last time he departed we ended up in the Conference, now it looks like we're heading back to Div 2. Why is it so hard to sign a creative CM who can also tackle and a goalie who can dominate his penalty area? The fact Slocombe is only reserve goalie at Lincoln, to their former reserve goalie, sums up how good he was! Two more defeats this week and I'll start to wonder if we could do better with a new manager, just as long as it's not Marcus Stewart!

Smith a goalkeeper signed by Lincoln from non league with a total of two league and one cup appearance record.

How do you know he got a sh*t budget? and how much is it compared to other clubs? Last season it was 17th. But did that include the £500K+ transfer fees DC blew on Nichols, Sercombe, Partington, Burn and Mensah, I doubt any other mid table team spent that last season? This summer he spent another £200K. What other clubs outside the top 6 or so clubs have got noticeably higher playing budgets? As an example Walsall sold Bakayoko for £150K and bought in a non league striker for £35K and are now 4th. We bought in Payne for £200K and are 5th from bottom. If the ALQ's are giving DC every penny allowed under the SCMP rules then how can other clubs be spending more as I doubt many owners "donate" large sums at this level.

We need Sercombe and Lines as central midfielders and Lines is told to drive at the centre of the opposition defence as he did for about 10 minutes on Tuesday before he got sent off. Do that and we’d start to worry the opposition instead of being worried ourselves. UTG!

I personally think there needs to be partnerships built up in any team, particularly the front two and the two centre backs. Knowing where the other one is imo is vital especially in these two areas of the pitch. We also seem to be overloaded with midfielders which allows DC to constantly chop and change and put his changing ideologies into practice which I don't think is helpful to the overall team performance.

Agree entirely, however they're not particularly strong defensively so would need Sinclair/Clarke/Upson alongside them. That's going to impact on either our width or playing two up front, but a price worth paying to get both Lines and Sercombe in their best positions.

Yes you are right but I almost think the mindset needs to be let’s worry the opposition. And those two seem to be the ones that worry them most. I like Sercombe but it’s Lines who when his minds on it really gets at the opposition. Difficult decisions to make but I hope we can look to playbplayers in their positions and keep a positive mindset. UTG!
