Never said it helped them gain ties against the Manchester clubs? Everyone, except for us loved the gifs at first. Yes they got boring and tedious after awhile but the numbers speak for themselves. The fact that other clubs started to copy them shows how successful it was. 40K retweets and 60K likes for the winning goal against Man Utd when usually it would have got about 2/3K tops. Think what you like about them but the marketing/social media team did exactly what they're paid to do and then some. Very much doubt that. There's more than 2-3k Man Utd haters using twitter, hence the high numbers.
Maybe I under-estimated but would get nowhere near the 40K that the teds got. Never said it helped them gain ties against the Manchester clubs? Everyone, except for us loved the gifs at first. You only have to see my posts on the first page to see that's not the case. Just don't see the point in downplaying what a great job their marketing department did last season with the GIFs.

Well i don't think the gifs helped them gain ties against the Manchester clubs. The rest of the football clubs keep telling them to stick thier gifs up their A$$. They were a desperate attempt to gain a few likes. Never said it helped them gain ties against the Manchester clubs? Everyone, except for us loved the gifs at first. I agree, the gifs were something a bit different - and would have appealed to the younger demographic, who have spare cash to splash before they get tied down with mortgages/rent. I thought that the MT one was very funny. Surely we don't have to dislike things, just because it's them. I don't think that yesterday's Tweet was particularly good, it actually reminded me of their pitch invasion and them spitting at Ellis when he was taking a throw in - not a good image to promote.

It's just not this thread though, you seem obsessed with them, you only have to look back through your posts to see this.
Even during the Portsmouth game, you're telling everyone on here with glee that Taylor has put 'em 1 up.

Hahahahahah bore off. Plenty on here are far worse. You have to go all the way back to Aug 21st to find my last comment; which isn't with glee is it?

Perhaps their tweet should have shown that fat twat in the yellow shirt that came onto the pitch three times and bated the gas, only to be politely shown back to his seat each time by ineffective police and stewards.
It's like they, Oh, hang on, they have their own division of Avon & Somekit Constabulary.
Vile scum.

Still to this day it remains one of the biggest mysteries they got away without punishment re their crowd control in that jpt game. People on the pitch influencing and intimidating a match seen infront of millions on Sky. A team that have a history of attacking players in similar derbys over the years. Any other team would have been fined thousands / had warnings / warnings put out to fans / possible sanctions - last 15 mins replayed; match replayed behind closed doors. Definitely there was immense influence from somewhere as this could have ended with players being seriously hurt.

I think they always believe they have the divine right to beat us.
Since I have been supporting Rovers they have always had more money, better stadium and were always favourites to win.
They simply couldn't take losing to us and showed themselves up multiple times at the games and some of them on national tv.
The 1989/90 season was something that couldn't have been scripted better. I know they have many younger fans these days all crammed into their Knowle West crack houses that don't remember any league games with us, but that one season, no actually those last 2 games, made it all worth being a gashead.

Absolutely. I've watched Rovers since the 1967 season and remember many of the games v the sh** home and away. Losing 5-0 at Eastville being one of the lowest but those games you mention at Twerton and the JPT semi at the Mem were unforgettable highlights when they had their septum missing noses more than rubbed in their own sh**

What made it all even better is that I grew up in South Bristol and was the only gashead at my school.
It used to be very quiet after a derby in those days as most of them were suddenly ill the next schoolday after a game!
...and yes its true some of them did go to school

Back in the day, that game actually had some meaning and was taken very very seriously by both clubs....that is the 5-0 loss I remember anyway.

Yes Nobby it was and yes it was taken serious in those days. Think Chris Crowe got a hatrick. God that was a kick in the teeth that day but funny enough my satisfaction for that game came when we won at their place on Jan 1st 1987 thanks to a Mr Gary Smart.

Took my ten-year old son to his first game. However, we couldn't get in the Rovers end, so we went in the East End. Put my scarf deep into my pockets. When Gary Penrice hit that winner, I had to control myself to just a very very quiet 'yes'.

Who was the club that asked "where's our goal gif?" When they scored a last minute winner against them? That soon shut their twitter account up. I think Norwich maybe? Wolves I think.

Did he ever get even a caution?

However I had to consider the boy, plus there were only about 4,000 of them. They would have needed reinforcements to make it a fair fight.

The thing I love most about that goal was Lambert's celebration. I really doubt he was going apes**t about playing in the LDV final at Cardiff. The 'fat scouser' knew exactly how much that goal meant to the fans and he delivered it for us. Apparently basso still has his arms in the air to this day 🤣🤣 All hail King Rickie. Attachment Deleted
