The only man in Test history to get a fifty and a hundred in both his first, and last Test matches. Take a bow Son.

Interesting though that of the top 10 Test run scorers of all time, 8 of the 10 stopped playing not only in this century, but in this decade.
Of the top 10, I would only count Tendulkar, Lara and Border as ones who will be remembered as legends.
Cook will not go down in history as a legend, but still a great achievement.
There's just a lot more cricket played nowadays.

What also has to be taken into consideration too, is that Cook is an opener, don't think anyone else in the list is? Opening is the hardest place to bat,. Most of the others were batting 3 or 4. Coming in when ball is softer, and the bowlers that bit more tired.
I can't see another opener scoring more than Cook.
Just think we also had Anderson in the same team, our best bowler ever. And Broad too, it's going to be hard trying to replace that trio.
